I am nervous because it's the "unknown" of knowing what to expect, and I'm not the BEST TEST TAKER, can someone tell me what to expect, and how can I calm my nerves when it comes to test taking"? I'm overwhelmed already and haven't even started school yet! Lol. I just want to do Great!......Help a scared student

I cant tell you what its like because I am one of these "patiently" waiting on a hopeful acceptance letter. However, being nervous is normal, try to keep changing your thoughts back to being EXCITED!!!! Go in there and kick butt! You got this far- you got in! Now show them you are there to be great and nothing less :) And being a horrible test taker does not determine whether you will be a great nurse or not. Take it a day at a time. The part thats always hard for me is walking in a room and people stare at me, and i feel awkward and alone haha - but then i noticed I kind of do it too when folks come in after me so then it reminds me that I wasnt thinking badly of them so no one was thinking bad of me. Keep your head up and the best of luck to you!

Congratulations

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. Sometimes it's just the little things people can say that can make you feel better :).....I will keep you posted on my progress whenever I have time....lol

What school are you attending if you dont mind me asking?

Moving Forward, please don't start nursing school being scared. You don't want that fear to over power you because fear is torment. My Dear you go into nursing school knowing you will conquer and destroy each exam. If you really love nursing, you ho into that program and be the BEST YOU CAN BE. You SHINE in clinical setting and in the class room. Ultimately, you will come out a winner and be a c.f. rest nurse. God will see you through your nursing program. Stay Strong!

Sorry, that was auto correct. lol. This is what I wanted to say. Moving Forward: Ultimately, you will come out a winner and be the best nurse you can be. God will see you through your nursing program. STAY STRONG!

Beckfield College In Tri-County! Cincinnati Ohio. Are you familiar with this college?

Hadassah16 Thank You! I guess it's the fear of the unknown not knowing what to expect when stepping in a classroom at the age of 39 ......I really want to do well and I'm going to claim that pride from here on out! Because you are RIGHT! With God All Things are possible! Thank You :)

Moving forward you are welcome. I understand how you feel. We are around the same age, I will be 39 soon. I guarantee you will see much older people in your class. It will be a wonderful experience and you will make great friends. But, don't say your grades because you will see those friends turned enemies very fast. Lol. Moving forward, you will make it.

I agree with that- about keeping your grades and such private- I have seen best friends not end up so by one not getting accepted and the other getting accepted- or by making better grades than the other- and although you wouldnt want friends like that anyway- there are those who will smile at you in hopes that you are doing worse than they are. I look forward to see how you are doing. I will be looking for it!! :) When you have time of course. Air hugs. Be fabulous Monday! God Bless

Having been there, my best advice to you is to take it one day at a time. And I too with Hadassah16 absolutely do not share your grades with others. While in school I tended to notice students trying to get that kind of information out of others. That really put a strain on "friendships". Also do what works best for you when you are preparing for exams and clinical check offs (i.e. study groups or not). Best of sucess on your journey.

Moving forward......

I too am starting school on 1/6/14.. I'm more excited than nervous!! I'm a register medical assistant and have worked 5 years in an private in home health care business... My coworkers claim that I'll be fine with my experience, but I just don't know what to expect!! I wish you the best of luck!!
