NELRP is there a thread?

Is there already a thread for RNs waiting to hear about awards from the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program?

When I search, I can only find previous year's threads.

I'm soooooooo happy for you! :w00t:

Who cares what the neighbor thinks, I'm sure you were screaming and jumping up and down!! LOL Time for you to figure out which loan to pay on first!!!

All my loans are consolidated so it is easy to figure that out, and this is trivial but I'm trying to figure out how to make the most out of the money....I'm going to continue to pay my payment by electronic draft because I have a little cheaper interest by doing that and just add an extra payment of what HRSA sends me and maybe snowball my debt.......so, I called my lender to see if I could just add an extra payment a month and they said that my electronic draft would go to 0 because it would show that it is paid....so there are technicalities to figure out but I'm not gonna focus on that right now cause I want everyone to hear good news and keep the good kharma going!!!!!

did you have to send anything in when you got the contract?

You should have some sort of "do not advance payment" option, where you can make that extra payment on your principle balance, without it being applied to your next payment. Good luck!

Hi tgonzalez and congrats.Wondering what percent of the award amount went to taxes? Guess that could go to any lucky ducks who got their award letters already. I'm still waiting on award letter...ugh.

TGonzalez, do you know if we are allowed to consolidate our loans if we are participants in the program? I know we can't do that during the application process, but not sure about the rules if we are awarded.
