NELRP is there a thread?

Published

Is there already a thread for RNs waiting to hear about awards from the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program?

When I search, I can only find previous year's threads.

YAY!! I have a credit report and excluded party list! Now, not that it means absolutely a thing....lol...but I'm happy to have it! I don't know about everyone else but I am a wreck  I am bordering on OCD on checking all my things. I think things are moving along or at least hoping so.....Good luck everyone!

I just started following this year's thread after the stress of applying last year and not getting it. Now I feel like I'm going through the same thing as last year. So if I understand correctly, you have to work somewhere that has a HPSA score to be eligible? I work at the University of Virginia and a bunch of nurses I work with received the NELRP in the past, so I am confused now. Are UVA employees no longer eligible to receive funding? My ratio is 120%. Also, on my application, nothing has been added and it went from submitted but not reviewed to just submitted. So does this mean I didn't get it? One of my main reasons for wanting to work at UVA was so that I could receive funding because I wasn't eligible at my previous hospital so I'm starting to feel like I will never catch a break. If anyone has info I would really appreciate it! And good luck to everyone else on here! We all totally deserve it!

I don't know if you have to have that for sure but it looks like that is what puts you in a certain tier? But I'm just guessing....good luck!!

YAY:yelclap:I'm already crazy from this long wait!

Perhaps I'm just beyond the normal stress, but I am worried about something else now. The original application asked when our nursing license expired, of course mine was 4/30/12. Now I'm worried they won't verify that I renewed it. I did call and the rep told me she couldn't add anything. However, someone added that my address and phone number is subject to change-don't know why???

I'm sure that they call and update that with the board of nursing because mine expired 5/31/12 but I renewed.......why would your address phone be subject to change? where did they add that or where did you see it? Think positive! That's all we can do!!! Good luck!

I'm sure they'll look into your license to make sure it has been renewed. It's the stress of waiting, making us all crazy worried! I know I keep looking back wondering if I misinterpreted anything on the application and made mistakes, but I try not to think about it because I can't change anything now.

I also saw the note at the end of my submitted application saying that contact info is subject to change. I don't recall seeing it before yesterday, but I think it's because people move, addresses and phone numbers change, etc., and they have to be able to update that in their system. I do find it ironic, though, that they can't update our email address if that changes. Oh, all of the little things that drive us crazy!

I'm so glad we have each other for emotional support!!!

Ok...I was looking at last years blogs again...in case I missed something, just checking dates when they heard what.....I've gone over the edge!!! Haha....but it is strange that there are probably 6000 applicants and we are the only ones blogging.....I couldn't help but laugh to myself and I knew you guys would think it is funny!!!!! It is a good thing we have emotional support! It looks like july around the 14th or so when they got letters for intent to borrow, so we have a little waiting to do and then that is not a "for sure".

You are right, where are the rest of them? LOL! Well, we few are enough to help keep each other sane while waiting on this long process

Hi Guys,

I would like to have this clear, if you don't have a good credit score, you won't be eligible?????????

I've also wondered why there's so few of us here. But there were quite a few bloggers that were awarded last year, so I like to assume that the same will happen this year!

What they look for in your credit report is delinquent payments, unpaid debt, etc. Your credit score has absolutely nothing to do with your chances of getting an award, as it should be.
