I applied for the 2009 NELRP. I did not expect to hear from HRSA until September (IF I received an award). However, I was contacted by HRSA yesterday (June 15, 2009). They asked me to obtain pay off information for a few of my loans --- they had been unsuccessful with getting the info for those loans on their own, but did get the pay off amounts on other loans.
I asked the HRSA representative if this was a "good sign" and she responded that she could not confirm funding, but I am a "first funding preference" and "within range" (I think most who apply are "within range").
Questions: Has anyone else heard from HRSA this early?
Thanks!

OK, I have to quit reading the posts because I am driving myself crazy. When we received the phone call in mid June asking to get loan payoff amounts, I thought that was a good sign. Haven't heard a thing since then. Never got a call to verify bank info etc. I am so worried now. All the guys my husband works with haven't been contacted at all (hopefully that is still good for us). I need PRAYERS!! I am so very worried!!
Hey, I too received an email on July 27th to fax over my loan payoff amounts. I'm praying that we all get the award..I was so excited!! But if you look back to the 2008 blogs, not all the people who were emailed/called about the loan payoff amounts did receive the award, so I don't think it is a guarantee. It seems crazy though if they wanted to verify the payoff amounts that they wouldn't be giving you the award. It does seem like a guarantee that if you received a call about verifying employment, banking info that it is a pretty sure bet from what I read. But a lot of the people last year didn't even receive a verification call until september..and like you guys said, some people awarded, didn't receive any contact. Maybe it depends on who your rep is..maybe they all do it differently. I don't know? And it seems like they are running it a little different this year. So who knows? Good luck to everyone! Ever since I got that email, I can't stop thinking about it now..it would be such a huge help to me.
Are you sure they received your application and the information was complete. I would call and make sure the paperwork was received. I read several messages from the past that paperwork was not received. Anyway, keep your fingers cross. You would think with all the money that is set aside for this, we should all get a taste of the good life. I wish you the best of luck and fingers crossed.

I got the verification phone call about ten days ago (I think it was around the 13th), but have not gotten an email with contracts attached. Is anyone else in the same boat? I am totally freaking out! (I'm at a DSH in MA, ration 186%)
