I applied for the 2009 NELRP. I did not expect to hear from HRSA until September (IF I received an award). However, I was contacted by HRSA yesterday (June 15, 2009). They asked me to obtain pay off information for a few of my loans --- they had been unsuccessful with getting the info for those loans on their own, but did get the pay off amounts on other loans.
I asked the HRSA representative if this was a "good sign" and she responded that she could not confirm funding, but I am a "first funding preference" and "within range" (I think most who apply are "within range").
Questions: Has anyone else heard from HRSA this early?
Did anyone just get an email from HRSA asking to Fax two signed contracts? The email talks about the recovery act. When I called to ask about it, the lady just said "I would do what they ask." Then when asked if I got an award she said, "They'll let you know." I'm confused...
I have not received any email communication --- just the 2 phone calls. Hmmmm... Was the contract you had to sign the same as the one we signed when we submitted our application?
What was the time lapse from the phone call regarding "are you still interested?"/bank and employment info verification/number to call if anything changes and the email with the recovery act contracts?
I received an email today to accept the NELRP award for the 2009-2011 contract period and had to also sign the NELRP American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. I really hope this is good news!!!!!
