I am just curious as to what the max. dollar amount is that the NELRP will repay. I understand the 60% for 2 yr. committment and another 25% for third yr. but what is the max. dollar amount? I have looked at the website and I have found nothing about it except the percentage. Other places I have looked have stated up to $15,000 and up to $30,000. Are these two different programs? I also do not understand they have a TON of applicants but I am really curious about the program (private tuition is doing a number on me). Any info. would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks for the info!... I figured as much!... Im sure I wouldve heard by now...
no letter in my box today either...
they outta do a bail out for friggen student loans rather than housing!! i dont feel bad for the people that went out and bought homes in hopes to turn em over and profit off them but then got caught... i bought a house IN my price range they shouldve done the same darn thing... what i feel bad for is stupid people like me that take out loans cuz they cant afford school otherwise and dont realize just how much its gonna be to repay them!!!
My contract started on 9/24/07 ..... just 3 days before I received the letter.
Hey thanks for all the info! Did they call you or notify you somehow 3 days before you received the letter to tell you that you were being awarded? How did you find out your contract started 9/24 I guess is what I am asking? Thanks, Kate:heartbeat

I never got a call or any kind of notification beforehand. I wasn't expecting to hear anything until October, so the award letter was a complete and total surprise.
I know the contract started on 9/24 because that's the date it says on my contract as the "effective date of contract".
No word here either-just wondering, did anyone else with a really high loan/income ratio not get a call or email? It would make me feel SO much better if someone else was in the same boat as me....
I totally am in the same boat as you-- my ratio is 186%, and I have not heard a word from the feds. I'm pretty much stalking my mailman at this point:wink2:

I was just curious~ you got your acceptance letter on 9/27 but when did your contract start?... i know they say its whenever the secretary signs it so i was just curious... reason being, my phone call was july 29th so i figured if thats when my stuff was "under review" that it woulda been signed and mailed around that time... but maybe theres still hope for me if yours was actually signed long before you received the letter... hehe... im grasping for something here... can ya tell?!?!
