I've been needlepointing sporadically since 1974. Took a project with me to soccer + football games, Mardi Gras, doctors appt., 2 hospital stays --but never to the grocery store. When I'd travel, would rather visit needlepoint store than a mall.
Past 3 years while husband home bound requiring 24 hr supervision. picked up number of projects completed. My needlepoint shop does the finishing and started posting finished projects on their website + Instagram. Several of mine have been featured. Here's few selections:
I've won a few prizes in contests at the shop. This contest was a square with outline of trees and water that I turned into picnic scene triggered by my parents Pocono Mountain home which was across from a lake. Marcie, shop owner suggested I turn it into a travel bag.
Needle case:
Nutcracker to add to my sons collection.
Loved stitching this for my SIL who ran a Doggie Day Care location.
Any other needle artists out there?
Love seeing everyone's work! Karen, those are wonderful finished projects! I have never done fine needlepoint like that, or cross-stitch. Might try, though, after I've retired.
I sew. In the past, I have made kids' Halloween costumes. Latest: making garb for wearing at the Renaissance Faire.
As I am short (5ft-2"), I am VERY good at taking up hems, LOL!
Yes he was.
My Aunt Wanda crocheted --made a crocheted dress for me when I was 10 based off a newspaper design my Mom found. Mom dyed slips 1 mint green, 1 pink to wear underneath. My regret that I never asked her to teach me. Tried knitting, never got passed dish cloth.
Since my sons always finding my dropped needles in LR rug --that's why my tag line here is "Watch out for needle sticks".

Sorry guys but the operative words in my post was "try to." I have a couple half done but I tend to go through "enthusiasms" where I will do stuff then lose interest. I still have all the kits and am looking to get back to it. At present I am halfway through building HMS Endeavour ( https://www.micromark.com/HMS-Endeavour-Fully-Assembled ) and HMS Race Horse ( https://www.mantuamodel.co.uk/products/ship-kits/sergal/469/hms-racehorse-detail ) which was Admiral Nelson's ship when he was midshipman.
At present I am building an Orrery and have really just started so it will take me a wee while. I am doing one like the picture below. So far I have got as far as Earth and the moon, Mars and its moons is next.
