needing confidence

took my first practice test and received a 73 thought "why?" looked back at the rationales, realized I chose some mistakes Ive done before without thinking oh boy! read the rationales before when i made the mistakes. Thought my gosh duh! feeling like should i take the real test soon or just wait..thought i was ready..what is a good score to get on practice tests in concern to the real test?

Which test was it? For a practice exam, that is not a bad score at all! I usually scored in the 70s (sometimes lower) and made all A's except one. Really read those rationales and questions--sometimes you will find questions on the real test that ask material directly from those rationales.

Yup, just what my favorite apple said -- I usually got in the 70s on the first practice exam, maybe into the 80s on the second, and I ended up with lots of A's and a couple of B's.

Thanks the both of you! :nuke: for the advice. Just was alittle down thinking boy I shouldnt of made these mistakes, I should know these answers..I already did the readings from the texts and answered questions...I guess sometimes we just read the questions to fast and dont really look at the what they are looking for....what is the best way I was thinking just read the objectives from the EC content guides instead of taking great time to read the whole chapters from each section...because I have tendency to forget alot......

That's fine on a practice exam.

Happy for you getting through CPNE! :up:Thanks SUE! I guess just looking back over the practice exam and thinking..duh look at the choices and easy questions LOL! Left the hard ones to get correct LOL! hey on CPNE do they have you pass meds on all pts..all day just wondering how they work the schedule.....do they just give you a list of what is expected on that pt. is that done the night before or day of

I got meds for all of my patients, but not all of their meds.

You get your FIRST patient the night before. You may write your care plan, but nothing else.

The rest, you have 30 minutes to get report, get the charts, and write a care plan. You will be given a Kardex with your areas of care starred. What is expected is very clear.

:)

That should be on a t-shirt! Below that in a small font it can say, "I passed my CPNE and all I got was this lousy t-shirt."

That is hilarious!

Hey! What did the Xanax make you feel like? Did you test it out before you went? I think I may need something like that, but I'm afraid it'll knock me it out.

I took xanax too. I tested it out first and it didn't make me sleepy but everyone is affected differently you know by meds. All I know is it made the biggest difference for me. I could eat and sleep and remember to breathe. I think otherwise I would have freaked out especially on Friday before the labs. It just helped me stay calm and able to focus on each task and my mind wasn't racing around like the week leading up to testing.
