Can a RN work in Nursing Agency opened by family Member in low Salary ?

Here in this situation Husband own the agency and wife is in his pay roll paying very low salary working full time including overtime ? Is this ethical or legal business when someone has accepted work for low amount ? Becasue her ex-spouse is making her slave by having full costody of her children ? Her Hard earned goes for ex-spouse who is having good time with his new girlfriend . She would rather get paid less than pay money to ex-spouse . Anybody know about the regulations, how much minimun amount you can get as salary as RN so her yearly income would be less? Do you think , it is ethical , legal ? Does this sounds like tax problem ? Need wise advice .

As far as i know there is no minimum wage for an Rn except the minimum wage the government says has to be paid(5.50 or 6.50 or something).

Although i dont get why she would bother doing that but,, i guess as long as others working for the agency arent trying to be short changed because she takes a low wage.

First off... why do you care and what business is it of yours?? (just curious), and secondly, if she's an RN she can't be all that stupid.... my guess is that she has a reason.... or she'd be somewhere else. Everyone does everything for some reason. Also, how do you know he's not pay her one amount "on the books" and more off to the side?? It would save him employer taxes, save her employee taxes, she would still qualify for insurance, as well as earned income credit for a low income... alot of advantages of under the table money. My opinion is that you should stay out of it, they probably got their own thing going on........ legal, ethical, or not.

As I told you in response to your e-mail that you sent me. The agency must be a corporation and managed as such, it cannot just be some little company set up some place to meet IRS as well as hospital guidelines. If salaries paid aren't at least in line with what the goin grate is in the area, you are set up to have all of your documents audited by the IRS. One way or another, taxes are going to need to be declared by the agency and paid.

Just because you get the lower salary, if there is a good attorney involved, it is very simple to find that things are trying to be hidden, and then you really lose. And musch more than you already have.
