hi guys, ive asked this question before but i really really have to be sure that i dont need to take my NLE here in the philippines to be able to get a CES (georgia) coz ill be leaving for the states pretty soon and i have to make sure, thanks guys
sorry. but i just want to clarify IF we really need to take the NLE for the visa screen certificate. what happened to kanebo's case (the one applying for licensure in IL) and the email that suzanne sent to cgfns last May 2007. thanks.
FROM my own understanding, yes you need NLE for CES. I already applied for it though it takes a while for me because our license is yet for release till January next year.

hi! can somebody please clarify this, 'cause in an ealier post somebody mentioned that he didn't take the NLE for his CES. also did suzanne received any reply from CGFNS? thank you so much! so i'm really confuse here... and if i wan to clarify the taking of the NLE issue, do i verify it w/ my chosen state's BON or do i just have to email CGFNS? thanks again!
To clear up any wrong information that is out there:
If you have never taken the NLE, then you do not need it to be able to get the CES Certificate, however, if you took it and then did not pass it, that is an entire different story and they will not issue it then.
Not passing of the NLE when you have written it, means in simple that you could not get thru it, and then the US wants proof that you did get thru it before they will do anything for you. If a nurse cannot pass their own local exam for any country, why should the US extend an invitation to them to come and work here.
The CGFNS exam requirements include passing of the NLE first before they will give you permission to test for that exam.
As I have stated all along, the NLE is not required to work in the US, so if you have never taken it, then you proceed as you would. If you took it, then you must pass it. And even if you took it in June, 2006 and passed, then you were required to rewrite it, and if not passed then, you go no further.
Remember that even if someone slipped by this, CGFNS will not issue the Visa Screen Certificate without proof of passing if you wrote the NLE at all. Not passing result and you do not come to the US to work.
Also please be aware that with the way things are now, you are looking at a few year wait to even have a chance to get to the US, it is definitely not an automatic thing anymore if you pass the NLEX exam as it used to be. There are too many applicants from your country and only limited number of visas per year, very limited.
Suggest that you look at other countries first for experience to increase your chances of getting to the US. The retrogression has hit everyone.
