Hello all,
I am a recent new graduate RN and applying for a New Grad Residency program in North Carolina. I've never had to write a cover letter before, let alone for a nursing position. Can anyone offer any advice/direction? I've looked up examples and they vary widely from what to include to length. Thanks in advance!

In general-
First paragraph- basic introduction
Second paragraph- why you are a good fit for the position
Third paragraph- thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for considering me for this position, blah, blah, etc.
I have been reading lately that many employers find cover letters unnecessary nowadays and, actually, I have been called for several interviews for jobs that I did not write a cover for recently. I do have over 10 years experience, though.
