Need help.

Hi Guys

I had posted the same question before but didnt get any response. Hope to get it this time round.

I am graduating in July'06 and planning to take my NCLEX-PN at the end of Aug or early Sept.

I have heard a lot about the nclex review classes and would like to know thw most recommended review class for nclex-pn and how much it costs.

Also would like to know as to how many days before the state board should i go for review class.

Expecting a better feedback this time.

Thanks

well im going to be honest with you i dont recommend review courses because they teach you stratigies to past the test rather than knowledge its alot of money to that you could be spending on something else . if you want some good study material try suzzanes plan with saunders the book is like 40 dollars and it includes a cd it covers evrything and the questions are good hope i could help and good luck with your test i know you will do fine:troll:

I agree look for suzannes plan it worked for me and so far I have never heard of anyone that used it her way ever fail! Goodluck!

I didn't take a review course and started studying 2 weeks before I took the test and passed the first time. I agree, from what I have heard the review courses are mostly strategy based and if you know the basics of nursing such as A&P, nutrition, etc, you will be able to figure out the correct answer to the NCLEX questions. In my opinion the NCLEX is totally critical thinking!!

Thanks for the response guys.

I have a saunders book and i have already started studying(but not following suzzanes plan) and i am doing good in the weekly tests we have in school.

When should i start using suzzanes plan? should i start it now or do i start a month before my nclex?

Reply please.

With the NCLEX, I'd say the sooner you begin preparing, the better.

Also, I noticed that you mentioned having trouble getting replies to a previous post. Just a suggestion: Make sure your thread has an accurate title. There are a ton of posts that come through Allnurses.com and they're easy to overlook, especially if someone is viewing the 'Last 24 Hours' option. If I'm looking at that view, there might be several threads entitled 'Need help', 'Question', 'Need Advice', etc. But say I've recently taken the NCLEX or I'm an NCLEX expert (which I'm not) - if I see a thread entitled 'Need NCLEX Review Suggestions', then it's likely to catch my attention and I'll stop in and give my advice.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

I'm following Suzanne's plan and so far so good. I feel like I'm retaining rather than spinning my wheels in a panic. I'm still waiting on my ATT, so probably won't take the test until mid-late July, so it's nice to have time.
