  1. Hi I graduated as an LVN in Sept 2006 and have been working as a Jail Health Nurse since. I do not have any Med Surg or Hospital experience. I am interested in enrolling for LVN - RN Bridge prog Full time in 2009. My question is Which Nursing schools in DFW area accept students without med surg experience??
  2. I know all the IM injection sites but which is safest site for adults? Deltoid, Ventro gluteal, Vastus lateralis. I also know of some nurses who use the dorso gluteal. Pls advice. Wud also appreciate the reason for why a paticular site is best and safest. Im still learning. Thank you.:yeah:
  3. Hi I passed my nclex-pn in florida and have recently moved to Dallas. I have no nursing experience. i am going start looking for an lvn job and i need some info like : 1) How much pay can i expect with and without the shift diff etc in an acute facility as well as in a long term care facility??? 2) which are the best hospitals/nursing homes in the dallas area hiring lvns? I am currently residing in Mesquite. Advice and suggestions are welcome. Thanks
  4. Thanks for the reply Eric. But when i think of the worst case scenarios, that motivates me to work more hard and prepare for the worst case scenario. This is what i have always done and have always been successful in beating any tests i have taken so far. But the nclex as u know is different.
  5. Hi Guys I am taking the Nclex next week(19th Sept). Nclex is probably the toughest and most unpredictable test i am taking. I have studied hard for the last 2 months, answering atleast 200 questions/day from the Saunders, Kaplan and Nclex made incredibly easy books/cd and i still dont feel confident that i will pass with ease. I dont know why??? Maybe its becos my life depends on passing this test. Is this normal for nclex test takers or am i the only one feel this ????
  6. Hi I am scheduled to take the Nclex-pn on the Sept 19. I have studied and have done more than 5000 questions over the past 6 weeks but i still dont feel that i am fully prepared to take on the nclex. Currently i am doing questions from the Saunders 3rd edition cd where they have test mode for each of the body system/disorders and i am consistently scoring in the high 60's and low 70's. Is this score good enough to pass the nclex-pn??? Can someone who has used the saunders book and passed the nclex-pn advise me as to how am i doing on the test??? Thanks and
  7. Hi Before the 3rd semester started we were told that we wud have to take the ERI assessment test and we were required to pass it in order to graduate. At the end of the 3rd semester we did a mock ERI assessment test and then the real ERI assessment test. Our instructor was kind enough to give us an outline of ERI assessment test. So most of us didnt have any probs passing the ERI assessment. After we passed the ERI assessment test we were told that we still have to take another ERI NCLEX-style test which wud shut off automatically if the computer thinks u passed. On this particular test some of the questions were from the ERI assessment test. Everybody in my class passed this test with the minimum number of questions. I felt the last ERI Nclex-style test that we took was easy. Everybody from my class graduated last month and we are waiting for the ATT now. We were tested on ERI the whole year but stiill i am using Saunders nclex-pn and kaplan ncex-pn strategies and nclex-pn answers made incredibly easy to prepare for the nclex-pn. My class including me were not so impressed with the ERI becos it would not give u a rationale for the questions u get wrong on the CAP test. Also the audio remedial is not so helpful. we requested our school to change the ERI but nothing was done since they had already paid for it. rnj miranda whats the name of ur school???
  8. Hi All The question is to the ones who took the nclex-pn recently. Can u pls recall and tell me what major topics (in % if u can) were on the nclex-pn like for example ob 10% med-surg 25% pharm 10% etc This wud help a lot to ones who wud be taking the nclex-pn soon including me. Other helpful suggestions and advices are welcome. Thank you
  9. Hi I will be taking my Nclex-PN exam in florida by the end of Aug and then i would be moving to Texas by mid sept. 13. Hi Guys I had posted the same question before but didnt get any response. Hope to get it this time round. I have heard a lot about the nclex review classes and would like to know thw most recommended review class for nclex-pn and how much it costs. Also would like to know as to how many days before the state board should i go for review class. Expecting a better feedback this time. Thanks
  14. After doing a lot of research onwhich NCLEX-PN review books to buy, i have narrowed my search to these 4 books:confused:   1) Saunders COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW FOR NCLEX-PN (2006 PUBLICATION). this is a 2006 publication. 2) Kaplan nclex-pn exam strategies 2006 -2007 edition 3) NCLEX-PN REVIEW MADE INCREDIBLY EASY. 4) Delmars nclex-pn review.
