Hello canadian nurses,
I´m an Icelandic nurse and i´ve been looking at master´s degree in Canada. But i don´t fully understand your program´s.
Can you tell me how your education works. I would like to take my masters degree in Emergency/critical care nursing, but I don´t seem to find a masters program in that area.
I only seem to find a research based masters degree. Is it not possible to take a clinical masters degree in Canada?
hope you can help me, i´m kind of lost.......

Have you contacted the Canadian Nurses Association?
Or contact the provincial nursing associations Registrar (each province has its own nursing association that issues licenses to be registered in that province) to ask about the programs that they accept.
Or ask at the educational facilities (university programs - such as maybe University of Toronto, McMaster University, Univeristy of Saskatchewan, etc.)
And on the allnurses forum - there might some comments in the Region > Canada forum about various programs.
All the best to you.

There are a number of clinical Masters programs in Canada. Each university with a faculty of nursing will offer some sort of program, but not ALL of them have clinical Masters. The Universities of Manitoba and Alberta do have them, separate from the Nurse Practitioner stream. Do some Googling of Canadian universities, or alternatively, go to this sticky: https://allnurses.com/forums/f108/links-provincial-colleges-nursing-303171.html and use the links to the faculites of nursing in each province to see what is available.
