Need help preparing for the Hesi A2 Entrance Exam

I bought the study guide but I have heard it is not much help when preparing for this test. I will be taking it in Nov at MCC. I was wondering if anyone bought "Hesi Test Secrets" from Morrison Media. It is $40, but it is worth it?

Any study advice would be appreciated!

I think the PM thing is so that people don't join the site just to spam. You have to prove you joined the site due an in interest in the nursing profession.

If you get creative you can find a way around the e-mail address thing though :)

Hello everyone!! Im new to this website but i was wondering if some of you can be more specific on which study guide they used for the HESI A2 test. title,ISBN# anything in that such matter so i can go get it at a book store or online. I am required to take reading, math,grammar, and vocab. Thank you guys!! I love math so im sure that section will be easy for me but reading is the big one for me and vocab especially!! any tips will help!! thanks again.

I have the study guide and none of those sections are bad. The reading is just reading a paragraph and answering a few simple questions to test your understanding of the reading. They are medically related but not in depth.

The vocab isn't like SAT style vocab. The words are simpler and most have some basis in medical terminology.

The grammar is very very basic grammar. If you've managed to graduate high school you'll definitely be fine.

I got a 34 on the ACT but I bombed the SAT because of the vocab section. I got a 98% on the grammar/vocab/math/reading sections on the Hesi A2 practice tests. They were REALLY easy.

Me too!!! I have to take the chemistry, biology, A&P sections on Wednesday but they do not count for a grade. In July, I have to take them for a grade for a different nursing program so I'm really excited to get a "preview." I will definitely let you know my thoughts on it! I don't plan on preparing AT ALL for those sections so I can see where I need the most work. Thanks!! :)

The reading section is what may stop me from applying to nursing school. I had a hard time with net failed it everytime except once with a 52 for GWCC LPN program so thats why i am nervous. it took me 5 times until i got extended time to get a 52 which isnt good enough for RN. But from what i heard this test is timed all together not individuality so thats good. I hope that is true. Im in Az so i dont know if it is in a different where you are at.
