My thoughts:
1. I did research and 37.5C rectal for an infant is not a fever...so tepid bath is unnecessary, i think it's A. tub bath sooth irritated skin
2. I think is C, but some classmates think it should be D, cause they think an infant need someone around him, but i think both C and D are reasonable
so any more ideas?
Again, if you don't know the answer, try to exclude obviously the wrong ones.
Look for similar answers, like give a teddy near and use a colorful mobile, same things. There is only one answer where YOU communicate with the child.
Looking at the bathing questions, there's only 1 answer that does address the problem that was mentioned in the question, irritated skin, that's a good hint. Plus some are obviously wrong, so try getting that approach in your head, look up test taking strategies.

Hi all, I'm going to take RPN exam in Ontario this Sep, I did some review questions which very similar with CNO exam for RPN, but I do not have the right answers...
Could you give me some idea or hints?
Sean is an 8 month old infant who is fed via a gastro tube. He is brought to hospital with diarrhea and dehydration.
1.His rectal temp is 37.5. He also has developed an irritated rectal area. Which one of the following should the nurse consider when planning Sean's morning bath?
a. a tub bath would sooth his irritated skin
b. a bed bath should be performed to maintain his gastrostomy tube patency
c. a tepid bath whould decrease his temp
d. a bed bath should be performed to maintain medical asepsis
2. Sean's mom is unable to visit for long periods and Sean cries when she is not there. What should the RPN do to communicate care and concern to Sean?
A. Provide Sean with a cuddly teddy bear
B. Distract Sean with a colorful mobile
C. Stroke Sean's head and upper back
D. Ask a volunteer to sit with Sean.
