need help with CGFNS-CES report..

Hi everyone..

Hi passed my NCELX-RN and I am now ready to be endorsed here in Iowa. However, I need some requirements before that can happen.

I need the CGFNS to submit a CES report to Iowa-BON.

I just have some questions about it.

1. I am a graduate from the Philippines, what will I write in the POST-SECONDARY NON-PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION?

2. I did not take the local boards in the Philippines but I took the NCLEX-RN and issued with a license by CALIFORNIA-BON, should I mail the license verification form to CA-BON or not since it is a part of the US?

3. Do I need my high school to send CGFNS a copy of my high school diploma?

4. Aside form the Transcript of Records, does my college need to submit CGFNS a copy of my college diploma?

5. What is the e-mail address of CGFNS?

Any input is appreciated, I tried to contact them but I haven't got any answers yet..

Mail address for CGFNS is on their website

If you have a SSN and a license was issued then correct all you have to do is send the form to CA BRN plus fee of (it used to be) $60 and they will process the form and return to CGFNS

You need to arrange with your nursing school to send your transcripts as well as high school stuff unless your schooling was over 10 years ago and then it generally isn't required

so i need the transcript of records AND a copy of my diploma from highschool AND college?

is it okay if it's just a photocopy of my diploma or does CGFNS want an authenticated one?

and can i pay the $60 through debit/credit card?

oh, and what do i put on POST-SECONDARY NONPROFESSIONAL EDUCATION? cause i put my college in both POST-SECONDARY NONPROFESSIONAL EDUCATION and PROFESSIONAL..

is that right? please reply..

I do not believe CA except anything less than Bankers draft but check on the BRN website.

Documents as far as I am aware have to come direct from school/college. Generally do not accept if you sent them unless they are in a sealed signed envelope that indicates no tampering.

I would say yes to the college by listing on both but may give clearer instructions in the CES handbook on the CGFNS website

Here are my answers to your queries.

1. You don't have to fill Post Secondary Non-professional Education if you are not a second courser. However if your first course is non-health related such as accountancy or engineering, then you have to write in there. If does not apply to you then just put N/A.

2. Send a license Verification form to CA-BRN (plus the money draft fee of $60). The form can be found in the CGFNS-CES packet. Verification will take about 4 to 6 weeks.

3. Send a photocopy of your high school diploma. In case your HS Diploma is in tagalog, ask the school to translate it english.

4. College diploma is not needed only the transcript of record and the academic verification form (from CGFNS-CES packet) which will be accomplished by your beloved alma mater.

5. It is better to call CGFNS instead of emailing them.

i applied online this afternoon and they actually waived my CA-BON licensure and my HS diploma..they just need my college to send them my transcripts..thank you so much!

i hope it doesn't get too long for them to do the report and send to iowa-bon..so i can finally start my endorsement papers and work as an RN here.. i am so excited! :D:D:D

and i actually received my license today..YIPEE!..:nurse::nurse::nurse:

Hello. A state BON I want to apply to requires a course by course credentials review. CGFN has 2 kinds of CES report:

1) Professional Report — This report meets the specific requirements of individual state boards of nursing, incorporating their requirements templates and including a statement of comparability of an applicant’s education when measured against U.S. standards.

2) Academic Report — This report is designed to meet the needs of applicants pursuing further education in U.S. institutions of higher learning.

I am confused as to which of the two should I apply for (I am a foreign grad). Please help me.

If you plan on doing further education once in the US then I would go with Academic

Here are my answers to your queries.

Does the applicant still need to have transcript sent from the first non-health related degree to CGFNS?

What if there's two Health Related course? Lets say Physical Therapy (PT) and then BSN. Does CGFNS require the PT transcripts also even if the PT transcript is already incorporated in the BSN transcript?
