as i am an rn student who just got my lpn license, i was hoping to get some experience over the summer before classes start again in the fall. however, when looking at positions posted at our one and only local hospital, i am confused at what some of the abbreviations mean:
re days
pacu
rnfa
scn
i know they may not apply to me, but what the heck are they?
RNFA usually assistes the surgeon in the OR in many ways. Retraction, coagulation, assist w/ closure, maybe even close skin by themselves. Sometimes does pre and post op visits.
RNFA's have special licensure ni Texas. They assist in surgery and open/close some cases.
Be sure to ask HR what all you are qualified for and find out the hours and other expectations so you will be able to complete your education. Good luck!
