Need Excelsior CPNE Advice Please!!!

Published

:uhoh3: Hey all you super nurses and super nursing students out there! I am awaiting the CPNE exam the last weekend in Jan and I heard of a "grid" out there that is taught at the CPNE workshop. My friend said it was great but she can't find it. Does anyone have this and want to share it with me? Also, I am taking the test in Amarillo, Tx. I would appreciate any advice, study hints, really anything you have to offer concerning passing this test. Thanks so much for your time. JAndrew

Need Advice on Grid and mnemonics.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

My advice -- visit the Excelsior Peer Network (EPN) and check out the CPNE board as well as the CPNE journals -- many students post their grids and mnemonics for others to use. Good luck!

I am scheduled to take the CPNE September 2008, any tips, welcomed. I'm confused, I've heard memorize the entire study guide, memorize the critical elements, don't memorize anything. Also what is the average age of the students, I am a grandmother, and have lived more than half of a century.

welcome to allnurses...you need this forum. if you don't memorize the critical elements you will fail fail fail fail fail.....look around and read the cpne threads. you will find good stuff like where to get the cpne critical element flashcards and robs cpne video.....let me know if i can help. we also have a great friend sue who is doing her cpne as i type this and at the end of her first day she posted her experince. i am hoping she does the same today so watch out for that. it is a great way to learn. i also recommend a cpne workshop.....:yeah:

Thanks for the info. I am scheduled to take EC Workshop in August.

Guess I'll hit the study guide, and flash cards after taking my Ginko Biloba. I have the DVD from EC. Someone name Mary Marsh stars in it.

can you email me the grid, i'm taking the cpne in september and am terrified.

There are a lot of mnemonics in the "I took the Excelsior CPNE workshop" sticky.

If anyone can email me any info on the CPNE it would be appreciated. I don't have any grids or mnemonics. Any info will help. Thanks, Denise

I have a short guide with an example grid and the method I used to develop my own mnemonics (I highly recommend that you come up with your own). You can find it by following the link below or in my signature. Hope it helps.:specs:
