When I moved from California to Fort Worth, TX in 2005, I had to endorse my CA LVN license into Texas. I had to get fingerprinted for a FBI criminal background check in order to obtain licensure in Texas, so I got the fingerprints done at the Fort Worth Police Department at the downtown building on Belknap Street. They did it with no problems. I hope this helps.
I just had my background check done yesterday and got the results today. I ordered mine online.

As far as fingerprinting, the police dept here does it but only at the service center.
Here is a site that our LVN program gave us for getting fingerprinted at graduation.. Hope it helps

Another possibility are local education departments. They do it for prospective teachers and sometimes will take the public. The Dept of Justice of my state has a website that lists places where you can get this done and you can find a lot of storefront places by just looking in the yellow pages.

Hello,
I am currently trying to get accepted in Navarro College's LVN program. They require that i get a full background check, along with a full set of finger prints to send to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The thing is, when i went to my local police department, i was told that they didnt do finger prints so i can send them to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
So, i called the next town over, and they also said that they didnt do it either. So i called the Navarro College Health Professions department to see whats the deal because no one is going to do it for me. The secretary said that the police department does do it, its just they dont want to do it, they are just not going to do it.
I have to have this criminal background in order to be accepted by the college. What do i do? Im pulling my hair out because im so stressed out!
