Near Passing

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I just found out I got near passing on all categories....thats bad isn't it?

Unfortunately, it means that you did not pass any of the sections this time around.

Best of luck to you as you prepare for your exam.

Do you have to pass all categories in order to pass nclex...hmmm i didnt know that or how it works? i knew about the above standard for 50% of the questions.

It seems as though when Suzanne responds to a questions no one else replies to the post....but i would love to hear some other input about the subject and how others felt when they may have recieved the same results.

You made a really good point. I have noticed that as well that when Suzanne makes a reply no one else hardly ever replies. The same happens to me. I agree i would like to hear other's input as well. As far as your question I'm not really sure, but this is something I too would like to know so i hope someone else can come along and leave more information. I mean i do know that you obviously did not pass any of the cateogories, I myself recieved about the same results as you. But I know we can do it!!!

Hey Oscar,

My interpretation of " Near Passing" is that you were not to far off from being on target. I'd say with more practice you will go above that edge and succeed. You did better than I did. I only got Near on 3 areas and below on the rest. I killed myself studying 3 months using the Saunders 3rd edition. I did all areas on the cd. 100 questions per day and wrote all the ones i got wrong with the rationales. I reviewed the incorrect questions and rationals as well. Funny thing is I shared my study method with my brother who was doing the RN as well and he passed. Comes to show that the group of questions you get hit with plays a determining factor in the NCLEX GAME. When my brother and I reviewed our exam modes on the cd we scored similar or i would score higher. In any event HIT IT REAL HARD DONT STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW WE CAN ALL DO THIS. THE IDEA IS TO COME ON STRONGER AND KEEP A POSITIVE MIND SET. MY PHILOSPHY IS IF there are others in the field that can do it so can I.

Good Luck to you... Kepp that head up real HIGH.

Oscar,

I don't think Suzanne means to come across in a negative way. Perhaps its her interpretation and again we are all entitled to our opinions. Again yes it means Near Passing isn't good enough to make it but I do think it doesn't necessarily mean you were way off......

COME ON EVERYONE INPUT YOUR THOUGHTS~~~~~~~~~~Thats what this site is about. Communicate and express yourself!!!!!!

CHEERS.

When you fail test, believe me I failed NCLEX twice and passed on third, you need to take a short break and collect your thoughts and decide on a game plan. May be change your style of study, look at another study guide what ever and then start studying again from fresh. The print out just gives you an idea on what to look at in the new study and some areas you may did great on but there will be other areas you didn't otherwsie you would have passed. Hang in there I am sure you will make it just may be determination and hurdles to jump but you will get there

Actually i have a question about suzanne as well...who is she? I hope that doesnt come off as rude but it always seems like she answers questions like she is the god of nursing. I mean she even has a nclex plan for passing...but is she just someone who developed this in her spare time and put it up on the site? Has the plan been somehow approved?

Again sorry if rude but honestly I really dont get it.

I have taught in other countries and this a plan that I have worked long in designing and it has great pass results. And it has been approved by administration or it would never be on this site.

There is nothing more than that that really needs to be said about it.

But thanks for asking.

I responded only to what was being asked in this thread and it was asking what was meant by that statement. There was never any asking on what others felt when they got the results.

For those that want a more detailed explanation, here it is:

The exam is graded on 8 sections, and each requires a passing score on it, there is no way to pass on 7 sections, not pass on one and then pass the exam.

The exam is structured so that all get 50% correct and 50% incorrect; they go by the level where the majority of the correct ones were ansswered at. If near passing, it means that your level was just below the baseline that they were looking for. And is something that can be easily remedied on the next try.

This is supposed to be a thread about helping others, not attacking me.

Please get back to the topic that was being discussed and it was never me.

Thank you.
