Check out the front page of CNN. it just says it's a health care worker-I'll bet its another nurse.
I am praying for the two nurses affected, and all other staff that were in direct contact with, and cared for Thomas Eric Duncan. These must be scary times for all of them. Meanwhile, if the stories on CNN are true, I really do hope that the nurses at that hospital band together and walk out, until they are provided with better equipment to deal with this deadly virus.
The CDC gave her permission to fly. Nice.
This is CRAZY!!! C-R-A-Z-Y!!!!!
She called the CDC and ASKED them???? What?????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I was just watching CNN. The nurse Kady Roemer… (I think that is her name?) She made a very strong statement about how nurses have the RIGHT to demand appropriate protective wear… omg! they practically cut her off… went to someone else, then told her, 'oh sorry we don't have time to talk to you any more!'
I smell a rat. I smell a big fat ugly stinky smelly rat. Wow!
So...people are putting themselves at risk by caring for these patients with Ebola. Additionally, they are required to self monitor, and will not be allowed to use public transport...which could be a real problem if this disease spreads to areas where public transport is widely utilized.
I think that if a healthcare worker's personal life is going to be affected, they should be compensated.
CDC says they disregarded instructions, layered PPE and taped gloves to gown after specifically being told not to. Also were reportedly observed to remove gloves last despite being told gloves off first. If that's true (alleged their coworkers saw this, I don't know if they admitted it) the fault is really on them.

I hope AV made that call, and did not simply ignore safety concerns. I also hope she included in that call, that she was in direct contact with the body fluids of a dying Ebola patient.
Sometimes what we don't report, is more important than what we do report.
