The Nurse Amber Vinson called the CDC prior to getting on the plane according to CNN, she was told it was ok to get on the plane. Also the nurses are threatening to walk out of the Texas Hospital.
Also the nurses are threatening to walk out of the Texas Hospital.
I hope AV made that call, and did not simply ignore safety concerns. I also hope she included in that call, that she was in direct contact with the body fluids of a dying Ebola patient.
Sometimes what we don't report, is more important than what we do report.

I am praying for the two nurses affected, and all other staff that were in direct contact with, and cared for Thomas Eric Duncan. These must be scary times for all of them. Meanwhile, if the stories on CNN are true, I really do hope that the nurses at that hospital band together and walk out, until they are provided with better equipment to deal with this deadly virus.

I would never wish for anyone else to get sick but since its happened anyway it might be the only thing that would bring a nursing union into Texas.

The CDC gave her permission to fly. Nice.

This is CRAZY!!! C-R-A-Z-Y!!!!!
She called the CDC and ASKED them???? What?????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I was just watching CNN. The nurse Kady Roemer… (I think that is her name?) She made a very strong statement about how nurses have the RIGHT to demand appropriate protective wear… omg! they practically cut her off… went to someone else, then told her, 'oh sorry we don't have time to talk to you any more!'
I smell a rat. I smell a big fat ugly stinky smelly rat. Wow!

So...people are putting themselves at risk by caring for these patients with Ebola. Additionally, they are required to self monitor, and will not be allowed to use public transport...which could be a real problem if this disease spreads to areas where public transport is widely utilized.
I think that if a healthcare worker's personal life is going to be affected, they should be compensated.

I think we need to ask Doctors without Borders to come handle this. They know what they are doing.

CDC says they disregarded instructions, layered PPE and taped gloves to gown after specifically being told not to. Also were reportedly observed to remove gloves last despite being told gloves off first. If that's true (alleged their coworkers saw this, I don't know if they admitted it) the fault is really on them.

I post on another forum (just a general interest type place) and some feel the nurse should be prosecuted for possibly spreading/exposing people to ebola by flying.
I think that now that the CDC admits to advising her to fly, it proves she did her due diligence in seeking advice by what we all thought were the 'authorities'. My respect for her went WAY up.

This is turning out to be a big "he said she said" fiasco.
