Hello,

Well I am trying my chance with NCTC VN (and ADN if I don't get into the VN) program. I applied over 10 years ago (to be exact 11 yrs ago) now that my children are in college (one just graduate at the end of last year) I can now pursue my life goals.  My goal is to become a Certified Nurse Midwife. Yes, I already have a bachelor's degree in another industry; so I am starting small since I have to pay out of pocket. =[

I wanted to start this thread to communicate with others while going through this upcoming application cycle (March 1 - 31) for the Fall LVN program.

Back in 2013, NCTC had clear requirements that the science courses could not be older than 5 years (or maybe it was 7 years).

Has anyone heard if A/P or Microbiology courses have an expiration date?  I cannot find anything on their website or in the information sessions that state expiration dates.

Lets chat about our experience

Hey there. I will also be applying for fall 2024 I am not 100% sure on this I would still check with an advisor BUT I think mine were over 5 years. OR right under. So you might be okay! If not you can take them online with nctc that's what I'm currently doing with some other classes. I know it was close. haha Do you know what the application process is like? I'm trying to figure out if it's super long like if we have to resubmit original transcripts or do an essay or if it's quick to fill everything out and just one form?

Hi I'm applying for the ADN fall 2024 program, from what I heard at the information session it's 5 years or less. I retook A&P 2 so that leaves me with 4 points in that area, I did get a 94.7 on TEAS and I have a 3.6 GPA overall. However I don't think I'm getting into this program.

Why do you think you won't get in? That's an amazing TEAS score! And great GPA as well!

Hello! Thanks for providing this information.  But I know for a fact your TEAS score is phenomenal...I am sure you scored within 90th percentile or higher.

Why do you think you won't get in because you won't be finish with the other course (Micro)? Your GPA, TEAS and A/P 2 (4 points =  A), so you should be one of the selected few...unless they give more points for certifications (CMA, CNA, EMT).

Hello! Thanks for replying! The process has changed so much since 2013, I do not know that much about the application process this year.

I am attending a virtual information session on March 7th. I did watch the pre-recorded information sessions but they do not go in depth about what GPAs are typically accepted or if the science courses cannot be over 5 years.

If anyone else attended the information session, please share the application process with us.

Actually my only question was answered; I believe @ChrissieF had a question (or questions) about the application process.

I would think it would be who knows! Let us know what it's like! The one thing I'm concerned about is if we will need to resubmit original transcripts all over again! Or if it's just all filling in info or if there's an essay or what

I'm going to fill it out in 5 minutes if it's open I'll let y'all know ?
