NCTC ADN Fall 2014

Published

I just wondering if there are others out there applying this May for the Fall 2014 class. I just found out I have everything to apply at NCTC but with a B in A&P I I only have 10 points and I'm not sure if I will make the cut. Anyone else?

One more question...I have a solid white scrubs already but the top has a back tie...will that work for the plain clinical scrubs? no empire waist or anything (wrap type top with pockets) but I was worried about the tie back.

You can wear a black or white long sleeve shirt under your red scrubs and white only under your white scrubs. It isnt a bad idea to wear a t-shirt or undershirt under your whites anyways just because white shows everything - especially if you get wet while trying to shower a patient.

I want to say no to the back tie, but you can ask at orientation. They are supposed to be plain white scrubs with nothing additional on them except pockets.

That's what I thought. I guess I will run & buy a more plain top if I have to. My pants have a tie waist & they are cargo style (with the extra side pockets) but that's not unusual for pants so I figured they would be okay. I know they have some without a tie or anything at scrubs etc in Lewisville, got my scratchy reds there the other day.

I bought white scrubs and my pants have a pocket on one side. I really hope that is okay?????!!!!

I got the flare leg too in Landau and I just saw the list from last year and they said only style #7602 and 8327 for pants. Mine are #8335. I thought we could get any style as long as they were true red.

Oh man, I've already washed my reds too! Mine are completely basic though but I'm gonna check & see if I can find a style # on them. The flair legs were way to long for me, bummer. I only bought one pair right now, I figured I might go somewhere else & see if they had petite. But my white ones have an extra pocket on each side (like cargo pants) & I love, love those pants so I hope they will be ok. I think side pockets are pretty normal for scrubs but I guess I will find out in a week. Starting to get pretty excited.

I had to get petite also so I ordered mine on amazon. Mine are just like jls0459 described in a previous post: drawstring, elastic waist flare pant. My white ones are cargo style also, wink brand.

I really hope the flared leg is ok too, because that is what I bought! :-) I ended up having to buy a medium petite. The fit is really weird!!! I normally wear larges...

There are a few people that wear the flare leg in reds. You guys will be okay as long as they are Landau true red. For whites, cargo pants are also fine. You will appreciate having the pockets - trust me!

Are the nursing department phone lines usually busy all day around this time of the year (since syllabi and schedules were posted for current students)?

I just came across this,

"Phones on Gainesville CampusUpdated - 8:30 am, August 13, 2014

NCTC is currently experiencing a problem with the phone lines on the Gainesville campus. Offices on the Gainesville campus can not receive or make outside calls. AT&T is currently working to resolve the problem. Outside calls can be transferred to Gainesville users from other campuses. Other campuses are able to call off-campus and receive outside calls.

If you need to contact a person or department on the Gainesville campus, call the main number for Corinth (940-498-6282) or Flower Mound (972-899-8400) and ask to be transferred to the person or department on the Gainesville campus. Internal transfers are working for all campuses. "

Thanks TWishes!
