NCTC ADN Fall 2014

I just wondering if there are others out there applying this May for the Fall 2014 class. I just found out I have everything to apply at NCTC but with a B in A&P I I only have 10 points and I'm not sure if I will make the cut. Anyone else?

Do we have to order our books from the place on the paper or can we get a book from the school just wondering for those who have financial aide.

Do our stethoscope's have to any specific color/ brand.

The book site would not let me order more than one of each of those books listed as "choice," but I will check with the school Monday to see for sure if those are needed for transition students. Thanks for the heads up!

I only ordered one of each too. I am thinking transition students must have less books to order since you have already had a year of schooling. Do transition students only complete one year for their RN?

Transition is still two years just the first semester is different we only go one day and no clinical and we have a transition class second semester, I received the same book list as all of you.

Ok, I see now. Well fortunately for me, though I messed up and did not order the unbundled required books, I still have versions of those ones from the LVN program. Hoping they will still be relevant now.

I'm getting my box of books at the NCTC bookstore and using my financial aid. As far as the other books, I already got 2 of those on the list used on amazon for 5 dollars apiece. Those prices are ridiculous.

Update on books: Those individually sold books really should be current versions since diagnoses and available drugs change. I checked amazon and they are $10+ each cheaper than through majors. The bundle still seems like the best deal, but anyone looking to buy the unbundled add-ons may want to check around for best pricing on those. Altogether, my books were $1030.

I got the most current edition on the Lab and Diagnostic tests and Nursing Diagnosis Handbook. Used they were 5-10 dollars and in good shape. Unless ya'll just have to have them brand new, I would recommend amazon.

Do we have to have the doc fill out the immunization form that immunatrax gives or submit the ones we already have I'm confused

I've been uploading the ones I have and I'm going to see if the doc will sign off the form given to make it easier. I'm not sure what to do about the CPR seeing how I am taking it after orientation?
