Hi all,
I wanted to know what your thoughts and experience was if you took the National council of State board of Nursing 3 week course for the NCLEX RN. I find the questions are very hard on that. Is that what the NCLEX is like? I find that Saunders is easier with the questions.. and am doing well on them.
Please share your thoughts.

I would do both. Saunders is really good with reviewing your nursing content. NCSBN is really close to what the NCLEX will be like. I would say Saunders is a little easier. I would get 50s and 60s on the NCSBN site and passed boards with 75 questions just last week!! I also did about 2 1/2 weeks on that site. Just keep practicing questions over and over again. Know your priority and infection control questions. LaCharity was also a great book that I would highly recommend.
Good luck!!

Phewwww!!! That's a relief! I was getting really worried b/c I wasn't scoring high on the NCSBN site.. I'm in the 50s.. I'll keep looking forward and go at it!!
Thanks so much!

Anything and everything you use to study will be useful if you put your best effort into preparing.

I am doing NCSBN questions now, well, technically off and on, depending on the day. I really like it. Scoring in the 50s and up. I took the nclex once, didnt pass, and really feel like the NCSBN questions are very close to my previous nclex exam. Good luck

Just finished the 5week review and I want more. I also have taken the test once and these are pretty much dead on. My advice is skip the info and just do the questions. There are SO many questions. I couldn't even do them all. Now I feel like I should buy 3 more weeks. I also scored in the 70-60's. I wouldn't worry about the score, but know why you got it wrong. Don't make the mistake twice. I took the first 20 test twice to makesure I got it. The pharm seciton is awesome.

I cant keep the ncsbn training open long enough to complete the pre test. Its gets slower and slower and then stops running. It loses everything after about 3 hours working and poof all your work is lost. It wont run on IE, I had to download Safari. I called the help desk and they said they may send me an e-mail in a couple of days. So rating.... not very good on the technical side.
Just found out that the NCSBN "Greenlight" technology that they use has been down for the last few days, hence the non functionality. I discovered this when I called them again today, in frustration, about getting a refund and they were receptive to refunding my money, so that was nice. However, as I was on the phone to them the site started working, so I am going to try it.

I have a MAC and was assured it would work on Safari. It would not work for me, it was SOOOOO slow and would freeze on me. Tech support was useless and told me it must be my version of Java (which is the newest one), and they gave me a refund. I would have liked to do more questions on there but it was a waste of money for me.

I've been doing the 3 week course, too, and I also think it is WAY harder than Saunders or Kaplan! Which I guess is good. I have only scored over 75% on about 5 of the post-tests that I've done, and I have completed about 30 of them! Everything else is at about 60-70%. I do think the pharm section is wonderful, as someone mentioned. We'll see if it all helps! I hope to take the NCLEX in the next few weeks...
