Officials of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) lead by its president, Donna Dorsey, visited the country last March 23, 2006 to assess the feasibility of establishing an NCLEX testing center in the Philippines.

Yesterday, at our graduation, Mrs. Dionisio, Board of nursing-PRC spoke about the possibility of the Philippines as the next NCLEX testing site by April 2007. It could be possible (daw)if our country be declared safe for tourist. That's good news! That would be less expenses for us. That way we don't have to travel to other country just to take the exam.

It is, indeed, great news to all Filipino nurses. I hope it will materialize so that we can take NCLEX direct without spending too much in getting it from other countries. Our goverment really needs to focus on security issues in our country.

guys, i have lived in the city of Manila my whole life and i find the "security issues" exaggerated out of proportion........i stayed in NYC for 3 months a few years back and i find Manila as safe as NYC
anyways, i do hope NCLEX could be taken here in the next few months

Some two years ago, I had the chance to attend a seminar in Manila wherein one of the guest speakers (from the testing body) said at that time, that NCLEX being given in Manila was not possible because of the rampant falsification of documents happening in the country. Thus the "veracity" of the results of the exams was in question. Well, that was from two years ago, let me repeat.
how can one falsify the results of the nclex when in it is computer based? just doesnt make sense......CGFNS exam has been administered in the country for so a long time already and i dont think they had problems with conducting the exam.....
i don't think it's because of the fake documents. it's not NCLEX testing center who does the verfication, it's the US BON. the real problem lies with our security issues. yeah, it's been exagerrated and our country's been branded as well as not safe. i guess because of too much media exposure who's concentrating showing the ugly side of our country.
Well, to elaborate further, the whole point is how sure are they that they can trust the person who will administer the test.....knowing that some people can do things that should not be done in exchange for money....Although both are important exams, CGFNS and NCLEX cannot be compared. When a foreign grad passes the CGFNS, he is still not eligible for a license in the U.S. until he passes the NCLEX. However, passing the NCLEX means a lot.....getting a green card, a job offer in the U.S. and all.....now tell me that protecting the integrity of NCLEX and being more stringent in administering it doesn't make any sense now! Well, I was just answering the questions posted here based from what I heard. If you have further questions, it's best to address the office concerned of course!
"CARING"nurse of NJ.....judging by the number of your exclamation points, please dont take this personally.....i dont mean that "you" dont make sense....its the speaker who dont make sense as you just quoted him/her......please dont be overly sensitive about my post.....leave your bad day at the hospital where it belongs: the hospital :monkeydance:
one can not rig the NCLEX exam as it is computer based and questions comes from a very large pool of questions which the computer "chooses" depending on the level of the examinee
Even if one prances, dances, whines, or whatever one does, whatever one thinks, the answer has already been given! NCLEX will not be given in the Philippines. I think that that answer is very easy to comprehend. With or without a valid reason, whether one accepts it or not, senseless, baseless, whatever one calls it, whether or not one is against it, it will still not be given…..that is the truth, that was what was said, and that was the decision. Why can’t you accept that? Any special reason behind it? I just replied because I thought some people cared to know a frank and truthful answer. I do not mean to offend anyone. Of course it would be nice if they can bring the NCLEX to the Philippines, who wouldn’t love that? It would be convenient for Filipinos and it will be less expensive to take the exams. Plans change from time to time and the only constant thing in this world is change. Let’s just hope for the best. I’m not being judgmental nor sensitive. I hope you’ll have a day as nice as mine at the hospital too. Stay cool dude.....and good luck to you as well

Why don't US citizens working in the ncsbn administer the test if you can't trust people here? Problem in security? Why don't you conduct the test in the premises of the US embassy?
I have heard lots of lame excuses by these foreigners and they look down on us simply because they have this superiority complex build in them genetically...
If we Filipinos would be the first to invent or make the time machine, I'm pretty sure all would be different...I mean, the balance of power will be shifted, and these discrimination by foreigners would be gone...
