Officials of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) lead by its president, Donna Dorsey, visited the country last March 23, 2006 to assess the feasibility of establishing an NCLEX testing center in the Philippines.

in my own opinion, NCSBN officials would allow NCLEX to be taken in the Philippines.....its just a matter of time.....

Godbless to everyone =)

this is the reason why allnurses.com has been created to exchange favorable or unfavorable ideas. as we can see there were a lot of threads so that we can participate by giving good & bad advises so long as we stick on the particular issue & by avoiding mudslinging we can respect individual opinion or either we can disagree agreeably on the issue. brainstorming is good perhaps it at can improve the pros & cons of the discussions. i hate someone telling others your opinion is bad, better we respect individual opinion. kudos to allnurses.com!

I do believe that NCLEX testing center will be a dream come true by YEAR 2007 here in the Philippines. :) The fact that they visited our country is already a positive point for us. Even if it will not materialize asap, NCSBN has given us hope. It's like buying a house, you visit the place, check the neighborhood, its accesibility, etc. If it suits your taste, then the deal is close. If not, then you look for another house. And I guess that's just what happened here. Or it could also be compared to expanding a business, you put up a new branch, but of course you do some feasibility study first.

I do believe that our countrymen are trustworthy enough to carry out giving examinations. If NCSBN trusted India, Hongkong, Taiwan, I am sure they will trust Filipinos. Anyway it would be to their advantage , Filipino RNs are caring people!

Specializes in I wanna be a NICU Nurse.

NCLEX is coming to the Philippines within this year. :balloons:
