NCLEX Yesterday

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I know there are a lot of post here talking about failing NCLEX so I thought I would post that I took the NCLEX yesterday and passed in my first attempt!!

There is NOTHING that can prepare you for the feeling of taking the test. And the feeling that you have when the test stops?! It's relief, regret, elation, anger, and maybe a little hunger:) there really is no way to describe it.

I had 27 SATA, a ton of meds, and a ton of delegation and prioritization. I left feeling like I didn't know any of the meds and that o would be rescheduling. I always thought it was crazy that people said that until I took the test.

All this to say, people do pass boards on their first attempt. Some people don't, and that's ok. But don't become so bogged down by the post from people who didn't pas on this board that you start to believe there is no way to pass.

Thanks!! I have Saunders, Kaplan, and the Lippincott alternate format. I always seem to miss one when I'm doing the SATA. Do you feel that NCLEX SATA is easier than the ones from these resources?

I would say it's about the same. Some I felt like I knew and some I felt like I had NO clue. When I did my Hurst review q review test, I missed A LOT of the select all that apply questions.

Thanks so much for your reply. I will make sure I do all the rationales!!!

I did Hurst review and did all the Q Reviews. I also used the LaCharity book as well. It was REALLY helpful. I had a bunch of those type questions. I would also recommend doing as many select all that apply questions that you can. I had a bunch of those too!

That's awesome! Overall, did you feel like Hurst truly prepared you for the NCLEX? Just wondering. :)

Congratulations !! If you could choose one book that helped you the most with the boards what would it be ? And which helped with the SATA's I get stuck on that alot

Dear RNwithaPen , I am from FL as well, if you go to the FL BON website, and click on Licensing, you'll see a button that says "Grade Report", click there and input your DOB, your last SSN, and it will tell you PASS or FAIL. This is available 48hrs after you take the exam. I had my NCLEX on a Saturday and saw my results on Monday morning on the FL Board of Nursing. Hope it helps :cat:

I really do feel like the Hurst review helped. It not only gave a refresher of the material but it gave little hints for when you were answering questions that really helped when I sat down to take boards. I highly recommend it. I think it's worth the money!

I would say the LaCharity Prioritization and Delegation book. I had tons of those type questions when I took boards. Study it, answer the questions, and review the rationales. It's a great book!!

Perfect! Thanks so much for your help!
