NCLEX Without Kaplan Qbank

Published

I was just wondering if anyone has recently taken the new NCLEX without the Kaplan program? I am getting ready to take my NCLEX RN in 4 days and am really nervous. I opted not to purchase the Kaplan program, but have been using: Kaplan strategy book, Kaplan online Qtrainers, Saunders book, Lachrity PDA, and the NCSBN program. Has anyone here used a combination of these resources and been successful?

Can you access the Q trainers without taking the Kaplan review course?

I believe they are only sold as part of a package with a live or online review class you can check the Kaplan website for specifics and costs.

The qtrainer is only available with a review course.

I'm getting so anxious about my exam, I might even take it a day earlier then planned because I don't think I can stress anymore!

I don't feel prepared either with Kaplan sigh...

I didn't do Kaplan and I was still able to pass in 75 questions. Because the thing about these programs is that they are only refreshers. They aren't there to teach you anything you shouldn't already know from school. You Graduated Nursing school, Thats The Hard Part. Congratulations and Give yourself some credit :-)

Now don't get

me wrong, things like Hurst (which I loved) and Kaplan or whatever else is out there: if you know the content- you will pass. It's as simple as that.

Can I give you one piece of advice from someone who just took boards yesterday morning... it's to just breathe. Accept the fact that you simply won't know EVERYTHING that could be on that exam. But that's the thing, nclex doesn't expect you to know EVERYTHING. I had such a hard time dealing with that while I studied because I felt like the more I studied the more I realized I didn't know. But it isn't until now looking back at it, I realize it's okay to feel that way.

There are lots of resources out there. Something that our generation is fortunate to have. I couldn't imagine having to study for boards without the Internet for reference and apps on my phone. Nclex3500 is a free website with literally thousands of questions. Maybe look for used books on amazon? I purchased one for $22 and used that to pass every single hesi exam which I also used for Nclex prep. But most imoortantly, start believing you can do it... and you will :-) goodluck!!
