Hi everyone!!
I know some of ya'll are thinking "Ugh, not another thread on someone taking the NCLEX!!!" But of course, anxiety kicks in and I have to write! :chuckle
I just wanted to thank everyone here on the NCLEX threads for all your study tips and words of wisdom. I truly enjoyed reading all your posts and learning from you all. With that, I know what to expect when it comes to anxiety - and I expect to get in front of the computer on Thursday and go "Huh? You're going to ask me THAT?" and with that in mind, I will make the best of every question, and answer every single question to the best of my ability. It's nice to read about how a lot of you passed with 75 Q's. If I get to 75, and the test doesn't shut off, I will keep saying to myself that I haven't failed yet!!! (I do plan on going in there with the full intention that I will answer ALL 265, if it shuts off before that, then that's just a bonus :) )
So - to end, am I prepared? I have answered just about every question that I could get my hands on. I did the entire Saunders and NCLEX 3000 cd, going over all the rationales. I also took Kaplan and Hurst - I went through all of the Kaplan questions with a fine tooth comb. And if that wasn't punishment enough, I went and did the ncsbn website too, and answered all of their questions and went over their rationales. One minute, I am feeling prepared, and the next minute I am in panic mode. I plan on taking Wednesday off and just going over basic stuff and maybe taking a long walk or a yoga class to de-stress. If any of you all have any last minute tips, that would be greatly appreciated.
Since I live in California, we do not have quick results, so I will have to agonize and check my name on the website everyday, or wait for that letter to come in the mail. I start my job next week, so that will give me something to do, other than agonize over whether or not I passed :chuckle
Thanks again to everyone - and good luck to anyone that is taking it this week, good luck to those that are taking it in the next month to come, and congrats to all of you that already took it and passed!

Hi, You will be fine. Sounds like you have prepared. I just took the Nclex last Monday and I found out I passed. It shut off at 75. I was extremely nervous and then remembered to take a deep breath and just do the best I could. My review class said to look at Herbal meds, black cohash, eichinasia, the boards like Meningitis, delegation and priority, diabetes, transfering patients, etc. remember that it is looking to see if you will be a safe nurse. Pace yourself and read the questions. You know a lot more than you think you remember.
Good Luck! :

Hi! Good luck. We'll all be crossing our fingers for you. My advice to you would be to just do what you did in nursing school right before an exam. I studied for NCLEX right up until the last minute, cuz that is how I stay calm before tests. Just do what works for you and keep reminding yourself how well prepared you are and that you can do it!!!! :)

You have prepared better than most. Take your sweet time on the first 75 questions.(2 hours). It is imperative to score well early. A little (mild) anxiety is to your advantage and will keep you alert, but I believe that studying even a little bit on the day before NCLEX is a bad move. It creates unneccesary anxiety. Take your mind off the test and do something fun and relaxing. Walk into that test like you own it and when it gets to question 75, answer it, click "next" and watch the screen turn blue. You have passed! :balloons: Oh yeah, remember to breathe adequately during the test.
