NCLEX in two days- total panic mode

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Ah I am freaking out and really questioning my readiness and knowledge. I can't believe it's in two days. I know all my posts sound like I'm a crazy person but really I'm never this anxious about anything. I can't even study and haven't been able to the past few days because I'm so stressed. I know I need to study and get in more info but I'm just so nervous. I feel like I'm gonna go into respiratory alkalosis thinking about this test! Any last words of encouragement or must know information that I should review today and tomorrow?? Ugh this is awful

Try to relaks and You can do it:yes: I say a prayer for you! Goodluck and wish for your success!

I appreciate that really I do:)

I agree with the above post.... trust me... As long as you have studied and have a good knowledge base, you will be fine. Watch out for be over anxious on the day of the test because you want to be able to think clearly during the test ok. Good luck!

i just want to let you know that too much anxiety will lead you to unsuccessful exam. just do some relaxation technique until the day of your exam, during exam take a 5 second break every 5 questions. trust me, i wish i have done this but i didn't. now on my 2nd attempt i'll try my very best in reviewing and taking up nclex one more time. GOD is with you. You can do it!!

:yes: :yes::yes:

When you are taking the test you must have a clear head. I agree with Lemuel_RN, anxiety will harm your thinking and cloud your ability to critically think. Always remember these three things:

1. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

2. The Nursing Process

3. ABC's

Also make sure that you know what is expect with certain conditions/disorders as to not confuse them with adverse effects.

I know that you will do great on the test. Relax, Relate, Release!!!!

I was the exact same way, the last 2 days I couldn't focus or retain any information. I had trouble sleeping and I had palpitations. It is so hard to stay calm. But try to take slow deep breaths, know that you studied as much as you could, there is nothing you can do about it now, and keep telling yourself it is time to get this NCLEX over with already, and it is time for you to be officially a Registered Nurse!

And when you get in front of that computer screen, be confident, tell yourself that you will be able to answer each question, and you will pass! CONFIDENCE MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! Best of luck!!

Thanks everyone...I have less than 24 hours until my test..Though I have studied soooo much these past 3 months, now when I try to recall certain facts I am having a hard time. I hope it is not the same way tomorrow

i feel for you. i'm going though the same thing but have a bit more time before the test. i studied but feel sick and unprepared. i know i have to study more but am soo stressed i can't even look @ my books right now.

you'll pass. it sound like you've studied a lot. best of luck to you and sending tons of positive energy to you for a passing grade!! ;D

Thank you everyone. I am probably going to throw up at least once before the test ugh

Remember what you know about catecholamines (adrenaline, mostly): A little anxiety keeps your head clear, your eyes focused, and your liver smooshing out extra glucagon to feed the increased metabolic needs of your brain. These are good, useful, productive things.

Too much anxiety is not productive and hampers your ability to think clearly. Look, you passed nursing school, right? Was it hard? Or did your faculty let you slide right on by on half-fast (!) behavior? No, I didn't think so. :)

They think you're ready to be a nurse. Go get 'em, babe!
