Trouble with New Grad Orientee
Hey!! Talk to the nurse first! Older nurses sometimes just do that when they have a younger preceptor brings on some insecurities for them that can result in a power struggle. Communication is key! Talk to her first. If it doesn't change the ascend the chain of command. A simple conversation can make a world of difference sometimes!

My First Interview ~ HELP ~ New RN
Hey!! That's awesome you got the suit as that's always a plus plus! In addition to attire.. - Prior to interview, education and practice is key... Google will be your BFF( look up interview questions) - Intro-" tell us about yourself" make sure you are strong and organized in your mind when asked this question and answer sincerely. - Know the companies mission/ purpose - Whatever floor they are going to put you on, know somewhat what is done on the floor - They like to know what you would do in certain scenarios, so reflect back maybe on some clinical moments that might be helpful. - They may ask you about pitching in to help other nurses who need your assistance during a shift so basically they are trying to see if you are a team player! - Be eagar and enthusiastic -Smile, sit up staraight and speak with confidence - Avoid ummm...uhhh, like, mid sentences - practice your interview with a friend or 2 and tell them to give honest constructive criticism. Remember, organizations want friendly, caring, dependable, organized people who are team players and have a willingness to learn. Most of what they ask you will be centered around this! Here's a website I found with some questions that are asked on interviews:Nursing Interview Questions and Answers Even if they don't ask these you'll be over prepared:))) I wish you the best of luck and hope you get the job!!!!

Failed nclex very upset
Sorry to hear that. What did you use to study?
-
Thought NCLEX was easy but failed...anyone?
Sorry to hear about you not passing:( My advice would be just study and do as many questions as you can. Maybe use a different review. ATI was good as far as content but not analytical thinking. I think you should stick with kaplan for the analytical questions. You can do this!
-
Took NCLEX-RN today (08-06-2013)
Congratulations!!!
-
Kaplan scores...do you think I will pass?
just FOCUS ON WHERE YOU HAVE THE LOWEST SCORE BUT NO STUDYING THE DAY BEFORE. MAYBE JUST GLANCE SOME TEST STRATEGIES IN AM THEN GO HAVE FUN...
-
nclex-pn in a week and freaking!!
I think you should use both! I took the RN boards and during my prep, I started with Pearson and ATI then merged to Saunders and Kaplan. At the end I felt well-rounded as far as content! Try to relax a little so you can study. I know it is nerve wrecking but remember, you have the knowledge, use the principles/test-taking strategies you have learned... Don't focus too much on your scores and more on remediation and understanding why you got an answer wrong or right.... Good luck! Let us know how you do!
-
Passed nclex!!!
congrats!
-
NCLEX-RN tomorrow
Don't worry so much about the scores. Your scores look fine to me... As long as you reviewed and understand why you got questions wrong and right, kaplan has done its job. You will do fine! Get a good night's rest, try to keep anxiety to a minimum and just relax and let your brain work. Do not change your answers unless you are 100% sure that the answer you are switching to is correct
-
Took the NCLEX...how many questions did you answer?
I had 75 questions and passed and I had a classmate who had 85 and passed. It is a competency exam. Once that is determined, the computer shuts off. It could be any number. Don't sweat it ok.
