An update, I PASSED!! I took the exam 4 times total and finally passed on the fourth try! Thank You to everyone in this wonderful support site. I took me one full year to finally get it right but it was so worth it! I can now start living my dream. :heartbeat
Congrats newgraduate!!! That is awesome news! Now go out and celebrate
Hi all,I am testing on the 27th and feeling burnt out!!!! Should I take a break from studying, afraid to because I want to go over things I'm not sure of.
I'm on the last leg of the saunders cd, about 300 done on the drugs...
about 400 to go..tired.....Any input??? Thanks guys!
If you are feeling burnt out then yes you need to take a break, even if it is a day off doing something totally different as long as your brain has chance to relax
well just found out about 1/2 hr ago that i passed. i am still in shock.don't know if others have read my story elsewhere but i graduated nursing school in 1977 and went on to pass the old boards. i practiced for about 12 yrs and left nursing in 1989 for a degree/career in mechanical engineering. i left eng in 2006 after being laid of here in michigan. i worked for a major auto company. i let my license lapse but now want to return to nursing. so i needed to take the nclex. i used suzanne's plan but i kinda of tweaked it so it really isn't her plan. but she got me started on the right track. i read each chapter of saunder's then answered the q's at the end of each chapter then went on to answer over 4000 questions. i also used kaplan and the nclex q's have the same structure as the kaplan. i used the q trainers and got scores in the 60's - highest 69. the only caveat with the kaplan q's is that you may not get that saem exact content on the test so you really need to know your content. i didn't pay for the class. didn't have $500.
allnurses helped me tremendously with all the support and the nursing student forum with awll the tips and mnemonics. they saved my life.
i took 88 questions and it took me about 1 and half hour to complete. when i got to 75 and it didn't turn off i really thought i was in it for the long haul(265). i really had to focus and concentrate. i used the board and put down 1,2,3,4 and then would cross off each answer i thought was wrong. it seemed as i got down to 2 and both seemed could be right. i couldn't tell which questions were the trial q's and the test q's. when i walked out of the building i really couln't tell you if i passed or failed. i had no clue.
i studied for about 2 months. i figured since i had been gone for son long that i needed the extra time.
i am so happy. i can put these books away or sell them.
:prdnrs:
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs to you))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
best of luck to you as you get back into the swing of things.
and remember that i told you that you would pass. please keep me posted on how things work out for you.
Hey Hey! I couldn't go to sleep because I knew I was able to see if I passed NCLEX on the computer after 2 days. I logged on and my name popped up! It's official, I PASSED!!! I am an RN!!! Thank you for everyone's support, this website gave me so much inspiration to not give up after my first time taking NCLEX. All you second time NCLEX takers, don't give up, study hard and you will achieve your dream. I didn't give up this time around when I sat there for 265 ?s. You can too! I can't sleep, I'm still in shock!
Congratulations newgraduate07 and SupaDrea!!!
Best of luck to mardibc. Keep us updated please!
:yeah:
I am studying hard but I wish I had more time. Only 4 days left till I take the NCLEX. I'm currently taking Question Trainer 6 of Kaplan. I have about 50 questions left (I've been taking breaks every 50 questions). I did so bad on the first 5 QT's , I'm hoping I do better this time around. Anyone else here doing the online Kaplan practice tests??
