NCLEX-RN today, 90 questions, GOOD pop up!

Published

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

I just got home from taking the NCLEX-RN!! I'm so excited. It took me 2 hours with about 90 questions. I got 1 math, about 18 SATA, 1 picture and 1 put in order!! Honestly this test really wasn't that hard. I'm not saying that because I got the good pop up, its because all of the material presented to me I already knew or been presented to in the past. There were no meds that I didn't know. I am a LPN (going on 2 years and work in an acute care facility). I have bad anxiety and literally can not study for long periods of time. I reviewed for about 2 weeks using Exam-Cram RN which in my opinion is the best study guide to study from. My school allowed us to take the VATI for free but I did poorly with them. I never got more than 60% on a test. I never studied using any online review and knew I wasn't going to like it.

My advice: don't take forever to sit for your nclex. It is a very broad and general test. If you were an average student and didn't cheat your way through nursing school you are more than prepared to sit for this examination. I also recommend using Exam-Cram RN, its a smaller than Saunders and gives you a good summary and understand of the most common disorders.

Good luck everyone!

Yay! Congratulations!

What is the "Good" pop up?

I am a silent reader. I sat my NCLEX-RN this morning for the first time and got the "Good" pop up. I have been so nervous even after getting the good pop up. I checked the BON website now (ROUGHLY 9HOURS AFTER SITTING FOR THE EXAM) and my status has been changed to "Approved". I am registering through Vermont BON.

For my revision, I used PDA by La Charity

Allnurses study guide from this lovely forum

I started serious reading about 6weeks ago, I made sure I did minimum of 75 questions a day. I doubled up on my practice questions to minimum of 150 per day in the last 1week.

I was so nervous a day before, didn't know what to read anymore. I tried to take it easy on myself and took in 7 deep breaths and ended each deep breath with "in Jesus name, I can do it". I was shut out at 75Q, and I felt like crying. I tried the PVT and it worked. I got around 15 SATA, lots of priority and delegation, No drug calculation, 1 Rearrange, some weird drugs contraindication and few other clinical Q.

To be honest with you, I cannot say categorically that a particular book helped me. May be I will say they helped my reasoning witth the answer choice reasoning because I found myself pondering and critically thinking before making my choice of answer for the fear of not having to go through it again. I still can't believe that I passed. I AM VERY VERY HAPPYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will say revise loads of questions, believe in yourself and believe in the Almighty God because I can boldly say that I did it by His grace.

I thank you all that have encouraged people like me, though I have never passed any comment since I joined this forum until today. I wish those of you preparing for your exams a very best of luck.

I LOVE YOU GUYS!

THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS.

I forgot to add that I also prepared with KAPLAN Qbank 1-7.

Hope this helps

GOOD LUCK!
