i pray that both of you will pass the test. i really need advice from you. i'm scared, stressed & feel so lonely. i did not pass the first time went up to 260 questions, my time ended & i did not have a clue about all nurses site, i wish i know this site before my first attempt. any way now is the second try, i did reschedule my test more than twice, too horrified to take it.
the first time all i did i just worked on kaplan questions almost i did all of them no content, i thought if i keep rescheduling it i will study better & harder, my biggest mistake of lifetime.
now i have less than 2 ½ weeks left, i haven't finish a single review book, still working on kaplan book & i have not done more than 300 questions.
what should i do how many questions should i try to finish until my test date( march 30). i have all the boos you name it mosby, lippincott, saunders, kaplan, so please let me know how many should i do a day or total before test date.
how many did you guys did?
i'm really confused & need advice.
thanks & god bless you all.

hey faith. i can give my opinion but i'm not sure if it will work with you. this is how i understand on how to prepare for the exam. these 2 works always together.
> content. it's true. you can't do well in your practice questions if you don't know your content. basically, if you don't know or you have limited knowledge on content, chances are you'll guess all your answers every time you do your practice questions. don't let this happen. don't say that i'll just know the answer after i'll read the rationale. no. no. don't leave it that way. you have to be equipped with knowledge atleast the basic ones on every nursing topic.
what i did for review of my content? i bought the 4th ed saunders comprehensive review. before you read each chapter, it is best if you answer first the questions at the end of that chapter. if you got 80%+ of those questions, skip the chapter otherwise you have to read the chapter. do that in every chapter of the book to save time and effort.
and this is what i did too, i read each chapter and then summarized each chapter into a notebook, that way i don't have to read the thick book page by page. all i have to do then is to read my notebook. saves time and effort again. :) i wrote down the topic, the diseases and its s/s, diagnostics, and all nursing interventions that you should do for each disease. i also summarized all those drugs for each system. (side effects and nursing considerations)
*** it is best if you use only 1 book for your content review. that way you won't get contradicting knowledge also you'll feel more comfortable with it.*****
>practice questions. ok, so let's say you have been reading books, memorizing every detail of each topic. but what use of those if you don't practice answering nclex-style questions? yes it won't suffice. you have to apply those knowledge into a simulated situation and that's why we practice answering questions, it reviews us and also simulate the real exam.
i do 100 questions/day. that's for me. because i don't want to be putting too much info in my head the whole day because by the end of the day, only few will retain. so answer questions according to your capacity. quality review not quantity. also, like i have been saying in my previous posts, read the rationale of each question you answered even if you got it right or wrong. also, the more you encounter different topics, the better. that way you won't freak out each time you click the next button during the actual exam.
again, that's for me. i don't know if it will work for you since we are all unique individuals. so feel free to use whatever methodology you are comfortable with.
ps: to those who just took the exam, we are all in the same boat. rest your mind and think positive. i have you in my prayers also. i hope we passed this time.
for those who'll take the exam, be confident enough! don't get disappointed with your practice results. look, you finished your degree in nursing and that means a lot. god allowed you to finished your course, and if nursing is ain't for you, otherwise you shouldn't have graduated in nursing. :)
I feel really blessed to be able to talk to people who are walking in the same pad as me.
I’m really blessed & encouraged by your faith, passion and moved by your advice.
I appreciate all the information’s, helps & advice from all of you. God help all of us, thank you for reminding me of trusting him & calling upon him in troubled time.
May lord be with all of us & guide us.
Good luck to those test takers tomorrow and the following days.
May all the questions you will encounter be easy for you.
Remember, when you are infront of the PC tomorrow at Pearson Vue, don't fret on those topics which you aren't sure of or you wished had studied more, believe me it wouldn't help you with the test in fact it will lessen your focus to think and answer each question.
Good luck and rest assured that I have you in my prayers too tonight! :)

hi, stay focus and be encourage. i think you need to do more of your content. without content you may not be able to achieve much in the nclex. always say to yourself you can do it. set your goals for the day and try stick to them. get to rest when you are tired and eat healthy too.
i can see that you are really troubled. always say your prayer and let god direct you. i believe in you and i know that all things are possible.
you can do as many questions as you desire each day or you go by topics. stay calm!!!!!!!!!!!
