NCLEX Retakers Study Group

Published

Any NCLEX retakers who have been out of practice w/ re-testing out there. We used to have a thread here for each month that would study together. I am a retaker and have developed a serious fear of retaking since I have been out of school for some time. In the field for 20 years but haven't tested in 2 years. I am at a clean slate for reviewing and I have NCLEX 3000 online, Kaplan question trainer and the saunders book. Post for feedback, I am open to it all and hopefully we can start a study thread!

I plan to retest in November 2014

Hi I also will be retaking my test I took mines a year ago I'm going in December.

natnat28 thanks for responding. All these months I review the posts and always reply and support other test takers who have failed once twice, to several times. I was even around when they had the random fact throwing. I think that a support group is helpful and now that I just completed my masters in public health, no more excuses it's time that I retake my exam. There is more fear than the studying piece that is outweighing my strength to retake it. I will start a thread of random fact throwing and see where it can help each other. Any more feedback by all means..

Ok I'm willing to put effort into whatever you're getting started

Awesome and thanks again for the reply. I will also record my daily practice tests to show any progress and I know that reviewing rationales are really helpful. I heard there are a lot of SATA on NCLEX now and actually seeing them more often is a good sign because the tester is increasing level of ability.

What studying tools are you using with the SATA?

hi all,

i tested yesterday got bad pop up so ill be retesting in 45 days. This will be my third attempt.

Me too..do u know which is better to take kaplaan or ncsbn?? Its very hard to focus when your working and have a lil toddler this study support group will be helpful.

Which state are you? I've heard they goin to ask for initial exm application after a yr that you ddnt retake the exam?

I am in California. There is no limit in taking the exam, I believe it is every 45 days to retest. The exam from Pearsonvue expires 1 years from the date you pay for the exam.

So what are you doing to review again? Any tipsor suggestons?
