NCLEX results in California

Published

I am taking the NCLEX December 1. How long has it taken other nurses to receive their results from the CA Board of Nursing?

You can have anywhere from 4 days to 4 weeks. Dependent on whether or not they have complete file on you. The earliest that you will find or hear anything will be directly on the CA BRN website, under license verification.

If you do not see anything by two weeks, then call them to make sure that your file is complete. It can be something as little as missing a picture, do not receiving the Live Scan report, or your school never sent the transcripts. CA will permit a new grad to take the exam provided that their name was on a list that the school provided to them. But they will not issue you the license until they have the transcripts, no matter how long that it takes.

seems to be the case for my results when i tested last saturday (75questions). gotta wait 2-3 more weeks because my school just recently sent them and the board said they still have to process it before telling me how i did. so theres no 48hr results over here. bummer

Hi Everyone! Just joined the site and have found it extremely helpful! Took my nclex-rn July 1st and got 265. I still haven't found out yet!! To make matters worse, I know that the majority of my classmates who took it around the same time I did found on on the website 2-3 days after. It seems that everyday my name is not on the site, I get more discouraged. Im almost tempted to send out the reapplication fee. Anyone had or in the same situation?

It's me! I took mine on 7/7 and until today I haven't found my name on BON while all my classmates who took the test before and the same time with me, have already had their name on BON web. I keep my positive thinking, and hope next week would be better than this week. Good luck for you too.

It has not even been a week for you and last week had a holiday. All files are reviewed by a human once they receive your scores and many had time off last week, so we are actually seeing more delays this week. Depends on where your file is in the pile on the desk as well. As well as when your transcripts were actually received. Not all make it in at the same time.

Do not give up yet. Best of luck to you.

Thanks Suzanne, I appreciate your input. I feel depressed and blank. I don't know what I have to do. Do you think I have to start preparing to re-take this test? Because next Monday I'll be start working (til Friday) I don't know what happen if I do not pass and the meanwhile I also need this job. It is sad that you have to quit or stop working when you really tight financially and back to study to re take the test. I don't know if I can do it all over again. :bluecry1: :icon_roll :sniff: :sasq:

Wait until you hear something. Good luck

Definitely wait until you get official word. If two weeks pass and you do not hear anything, contact them to make sure that your file is complete.

I guess I have to wait for two weeks for my official results.. I'm tired of looking up to the BON website.. thanks, and I'll just post my results here whether pass or fail a week from now..

The exam is a national exam so doesn't matter where you take it in the world or with what BON/BRN. Would suggest you check out the International forum because Ca will not issue you with a license without a SSN which you can not get until in the US with a valid work permit and with retrogression you are looking at a few years or more

The exam is national and you will be getting the same exam no matter the state that you are writing it for, or the locale that you are testing in. It is a computerized exam and it will give you questions based on how you answered the previous ones.

Best of luck to you, but do read up about licensure in CA on the International Forum, there is much that you need to be aware of.
