Nclex-pn passed

Published

My road map to success. I took my exam last march 13, 2013 and got the letter today that I passed. I'm a mother of 3 yrs old and 3 months old. It's hard for me to study but I challenged my self to wake up every morning for 5 weeks and do q and a from ncsbn online review for 2 hours only.

1. I do exercise for 15-30 minutes before i will study. @ I read a study that if u exercise before u study your brain will increase 30% brain retention

2. I studied Q and A from ncsbn online review for Two hours each day for 5 weeks.

3. I will do 100-150 questions a day and i am consistent about it. I made a calendar for my progress tracking of my percentages.

4. I will spend time to read and rationalize the wrong and right answers.

5.I pray before and after studying

6. I Eat healthy foods.

A week before my exam:

1. I got 80-90% of all my exams.

2. I studied normal values, calculations, drugs and etc.

3. Listen to my recordings with endo and neuro.

3 days of my exam:

1. I went to church and prayed.

2. No more studying and I do relax and read inspiring quotes and bible verses.

On the day of my exam:

1. I got 18 select all that applies

2. 2 drugs only

3. One procedure

4. 2 positioning s

5. 3 exhibits

6. Prioritization's, delegations and assignments.

7. I shut off at 85 and I knew I passed because I got select all that applies and got endo and neuro questions.

Congratulations Kabayan! I can totally relate to your post especially how difficult it is to find time to review when you have kids. I am also a mother of two, a two-year old and a two-month old baby but I kept the faith and passed my NCLEX-RN two weeks ago. :)[/quote']

Kabayan praised god. Nothing Is impossible if you believe in your self that u can do it and god who can walk with you in all seasons of life. God bless us.

Dcmom,

I followed you here. Everything is possible just trust your self. The best thing that I did that made me track of my studying thing. I had a calendar which I made my goal each day such as day 1. 100-150 q and a. Read the questions and rationale by heart and my percentage of what I've got. Study normal values and read some system. After 6 weeks I noticed my weakness and strength. After 2 hours of studying I reward my self by doing Facebook, watch tv or play with kids. I am consistent about it. Every time I'm tired I look at my kids and tell them il be a nurse one day and il give you a better future.

You can make it. The formula if passing is study hard with all your heart + prayers and motivations= success.

wow, thank you you are amazing , i know everybody here wants and aiming to pass but not all people can devote such a heart and discipline esp with all the stressors each of us has to deal with day by day and that includes myself, i have been to ups and downs these past three years having two babies in two consecutive years took a whole lot of me, joggling with the hustle and bustles of being a mom and studying isnt so easy nor ideal, i get affected of all things happening around me big or small that lead to lost of motivation to pass and one day being an rn.. so until now i am trying to put myself back together and hoping eventually that long awaiting day will come to reality.. thank you!!! reading inspiring stories here gives me so much hope to carry on.. real life, real stories real people.. congratulations again kabayan!!!!God bless you and your family! :)

Of course you can, Dcmom! I came here in US with my family last Thanksgiving. I was 32 weeks pregnant, family didn't have a car, with very little money on hand, so stressed with CGFNS requirements, and very worried about giving birth without insurance. But I lifted everything to God and He provided for everything we needed. :) My husband immediately got a job, my father-in-law gave us one of his cars, my sister-in-law shares her home with us and also borrowed NCLEX reviewers (Saunders, Lacharity, Kaplan) from her co-workers for me to use, and I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in a county hospital last January. 2 weeks post-partum I started reviewing for NCLEX. Did it for 1 1/2 mos for 3 hours/day. It was difficult at first but it was doable! Just keep praying, attend to your kids and play with them (they are our biggest motivators), devote a few hours to review everyday, and rest if you need to.

Dcmom,

I do understand you and you been through. Think this way " things will be fine ". Your lucky in other ways you know why? You can still take the RN exam but me i need to go back to school and attend med surg and ob If I want to pursue my rn career. I got depressed since I wanted to be a RN and I don't know when I can come back coz I have to kids plus the waiting list for school. It's a good motivation for you to study hard. I'm thankful coz I made the nclex-pn I left my self esteem. Don't lose hope Dcmom for you don't know what tomorrow will bring you. I will include you in my prayers.
