NCLEX!!!! Omg I just took it and it was horrendous!!!!!

Published

I just took it. 75 Questions. I don't feel like there was one question where I was like, "I Know this!!!" I felt like I was at best giving slightly educated guesses. Every question was so hard and obscure. I was a good student in school, did ALL of the Kaplan review (which was over 2000 practice questions when it was said and done) which indicated I was more than ready.

I just feel like crying now and I wanted to cry while I was taking that test. There were questions with 4 right answers and drugs and diseases I have NEVER EVEN HEARD of ever!

The only thing that gives me hope is that since I got no what seemed to be easy questions, that I answered enough difficult ones correctly and that's why it shut off at 75.

Interestingly, I had not one singe math question, nor put in the correct order question.

Well hopefully I find out Monday or Tuesday...

Yeah I felt the same way you did after I took the exam earlier this month! I had two days of anxiety to be sure! When it cut off at 75 I was saying to myself, " I need more questions!" But I felt as though you were not given enough info. on some questions. I had a ton of select all that appy and I know other nurses have stated if you get a lot of those you will be okay. I had one place in order. Needless to say, I passed!!!!! Thank the Lord!!!! Good luck to you. Let us know how you did.:wink2:

I took it for the first time on May 5th and failed. Got all 265 ?s Re-take Aug 14th.

I wish you great luck Jennifer, but having 265 questions and failing is not a bad sign. That means you were tinkering right at the line between fail and pass; so embrace that and realize that next time you will get above that line.

Thank you very much Susanne. I was, still am a little, devastated! I received a print out of my results that showed I passed on all subjects except for one - I was "near the passing standard..." I'm trying to be confident...

no do not try to be confident. You should be confident. You got the weak area and you are brushing up on some more studying before your next exam. I will get it next time. You have a really really great chance to do so.!

I took boards in May and had 265 questions and retook them Monday 7/13 and found out a few hours ago I passed with 76 questions. To anyone who gets discouraged, how I overcame Nclex was by strengthening my faith and looking at it a totally different way. You truly have to have faith first and when you sit in front of that monster computer, you decide you are in control of it and not them. Words of encouragement: take the test don't let it take you!!! Signing off as a new RN!!! Wooohoooooo:nurse:

ugh...you will get it next time!

Hah...see read above...she said so!! LOL You pass too!!

Thank you both for your support! It's nice to know I'm not the only one failed it...

I have not taken mine yet, but I had to retake Hesi five times before I passed it. So I can only imagine how devestating it has to be for you. Hey, get up, brush up that dust from your knees and march on :pumpiron:

Thanks! Whats the "HESI" ?

Nclex is one thing that makes you stronger after failing, like I said you must drill in your head- Repeat after me- TAKE THE TEST DON'T LET IT TAKE YOU! If you believe it, it will happen. I'm living proof. Good luck!
