I used a variety of resources (Kaplan, Hurst, NCSBN and La Charity PDA) and while you can pass with using one resource, my suggestion is to review all your answers (right or wrong) and know the what, why and how's of things. NCLEX is a broad exam, and while they say you don't need to know everything, I went into the exam studying anything/everything I could, so I knew important bits of everything! Teaching, priority/delegation and infection control (precautions for different diseases, what PPE to wear, if the door should be open or closed, etc.) are important topics on NCLEX. Also fundamentals - TPN/EN, catheters, IV's start/dressing changes, eye and ear drop administration, chest tube and compartment functions, diets (including vegetarian/lacto-ovo vegetarian, etc.), positioning, etc. Also, within Kaplan there are strategy and question videos - do get some strategies down as this will help you on the more "obscure" questions on NCLEX. Overall, if you put some "elbow grease" and time into knowing core content, fundamentals and strategies you should be set!
Keep up the hard work - it will pay off!

Good luck! I am definitely working hard on the preparation. I review all the questions right after I take the q bank tests and qts: make flash cards, write it all down in the notebook, cross reference with ATI and google a lot of concepts I forgot.
Some questions I just straight up do not know the answers to, so i use the decision tree concept unless I get anxious and miss the most obvious stuff!
I to have scheduled for Oct. 2.... I have read through my hurst book, using saunders for question practice, Kaplan strategies book, and PRAYER. I soooo want to pass this exam, all this time off from work to study is sending me quickly to the poor house. But nothing worth having comes easy. I feel that this time around I am more confident and read to pass this exam.. Good luck to you all!!!!!
Hi there,
I am also testing on october 2 and i can relate to the anxiety. i feel it too. i wanted to ask you guys if you did the qtrainers with new questions or new and incorrect. initially i started with new and incorrect and my scores were good. i think it gave me a false reassurance and a few days back i realised i should just do the new questions on its own. my scores have been consistent between 64-68. i did score a 56 on one day when i was having super anxiety and palpitations. not good. i haven't done qtrainer 6 and 7 which i plan to do next week as my class tutor advised. i have not followed the decision tree and i feel that i should have in the hind site. please suggest what i should do.

Aloha and greetings to all the anxious ones like me!
I have Nclex scheduled for oct 2. I am not a good test taker but I have been studying every day for 2 months ( 4-5 hours a day, some days a little less).
I have also done Kaplan in class review in September and now finishing up the q bank and QTs.
My scores so far were not so great ( as I said I am not great at tests):
Diagnostic was a horrible 52
QT1 57
QT2 59
QT3 52
QT4 53.3
QT5 59
Q bank is at 70% now and average is 60%
Readiness test was 62.3%
I am doing mainly Kaplan. I started Exam cram book but was told to focus on kaplan and the videos and review. Occasionally, i will open lippincott and/or saunders for some content stuff.
I know there is a million posts on here, but if anyone has any other suggestions, I would appreciate them!
Thanks for reading!
