Hands down agree @RunBabyRN

Just venting here!
Sounds like a crappy HR department and like others said, I wouldn't want to work anywhere like that. If they pull SS records and IRS records they would see your previous place of employment regardless if you filed taxes or not. My boyfriend used to work for a company ( not health care) and they rejected one of the applicants because the applicant wrote down the wrong dates of previous employment! It happens but I would steer clear of that employer.

what worked for you, may not be working for others. I am glad you are happy with your RN position at SNF.

Good for you. Everyone has different journey and different goals

There are no non or hospital RN positions anywhere that I am eligible. Everywhere it's one year experience at least.

Adn moving to san fran
I moved to Cali from Hawaii and had to take a job as an LVN. I have BSN degree, passed Nclex in October from first try and have gotten zero responses from any new grad programs here in California. California as other states will not offer you an RN position UNLESS you have a year of RN experience. If you are a new grad, they will prefer you have a BSN. If you don't have a BSN and have to move to cali I would honestly apply to nursing homes and either get your BSN and apply to new grad programs or hold your breath and work as an LVN or an aid.

Sorry to hear that SamanthaKelly, stay positive and work hard. I'm happy to work as an LVN right now! Majority of my graduating class are working as RNs or CNAs nation wide. I don't think luck has anything to do with it.

Thanks Meriwhen~ I have an offer ( started training) for an LVN position at a nursing facility so I decided to go with it and apply to warm states including everywhere in Cali. Give it a bit of time and see who responds and what happens. I did get some calls from indeed.com ( posted resume there) to work in correction facility but they wanted a year experience.

Meriwhen, what is your suggestion? I applied to a handfull of RN residency here in Cali and heard nothing from any of them. I also started applied to Florida ( applied to 3 last week). Thanks!

Yes, I was asking you, Umad. Did you interview already for other states? Have you applied to a lot of new grad programs? I am sure there are more opportunities in other less desirable states but San Diego is already way too cold for me so my other option, if I don't land an RN position here, is to move to the gulf somewhere warmer. I am training as an LVN right now ( next week actually) at a nursing facility.

Saw that, thanks and applied. Are you looking for work in Socal also?

No no, I am already in California. there is no way of gaining experience in Hawaii. They take only RNs with a year experience and you have to work as a CNA for at least a year. I am taking an LVN position here at a facility (assisted living) and in the meantime will be applying to new grad programs. There is no place in this country that it will be easy to get into unless it's a middle of nowhere state. Hawaii is very saturated. Many RNs work as CNAs for years in Hawaii

New Grads: how long did it take you to find a job, or how long have you been ...
BriManRN... where did you work if you don't mind me asking before you entered as an RN in the hospital? I have an offer to work as LVN here in SoCal at a nursing/assisted living facility. Any thoughts if this is a right track to get experience and get in at a hospital further on? thanks!
