Hi guys, I've taken the NCLEX RN 3 times with no luck passing. This time around I wanted to to sign up for both the LVN and RN,so that either way,I would have a pay bump from a CNA salary. I wanted to know your input, what the differences are with both, and what I should expect. Thanks!

I took NCLEX-PN in 2005 and the NCLEX-RN in 2010. In my opinion, the NCLEX-PN was the more challenging of the two exams.
Both exams require the same knowledge of basic nursing content. The difference is the lack of leadership and delegation questions on the NCLEX-PN. Nonetheless, the format and material are basically the same on both exams.

Are you qualified to sit for the PN? It's not just a backup plan for not passing the RN exam.

People in my BSN program who took the PN exam prior to the RN exam, categorically stated that they found the RN exam to be easier, but I believe that was probably because they had the experience of passing the PN exam behind them.
