Hi, For those taking their exam in HK, you can check the MTR website www.mtr.com.hk, so that you can have an idea of the minutes it will take, if ever you live in a hotel far from the test center.

MTR is such a convenient way of traveling around HK.. I passed my NCLEX-RN exam there last March 31, 2007.. :)

i just took my nclex in HK last march. i stayed at central park hotel in central hk. it's a bit pricey but it's just a few mins walk from the millenium plaza where the pearson vue office is located so no stress at all from travelling.
for all those HK NCLEX exam takers who are a bit cost-conscious and want to save some money, i suggest you stay in a hotel in kowloon (much lower hotel prices there than in main island HK) and just use the super fast MTR trains to go to the site.. just go to MTR CENTRAL Station.. from kowloon, we were able to go to the site in less than 20 minutes.. at the front of the grand millennium building, there is a small park with benches so you can relax and rest.. and starbucks is just a few walks away from grand millennium so if you feel a bit sleepy before the exam, you can have some coffee there.. that's what i did because my exam is in the mid-afternoon and i was a bit sleepy..
there's no need to stay @ luxurious and expensive hotels. what matters most is that you prepare yourself mentally and emotionally for the exam.. having a family member to accompany you can provide a boost of moral support.. i stayed in kowloon and passed the exam, and i saved some money at the same time.. one of my friends stayed at ramada hotel and the other one stayed in central park hotel.. both of them failed the exam.. so i think the proximity of the hotel to Grand Millennium is not a big factor at all.

All hotels in HK gets a bit pricey during summer since its the peak season for tourist there. There are a number of cheaper Hotels in Kowloon area but if your a person who wants to take an adventure, you'll never get lost via MTR. Btw, I stayed at Central Park hotel too last March.

Nothing beats just walking to your testing site, right?
Exactly, less worry during the exam date.
Best is to do an ocular inspection of the location a day before.

when i took the nclex last may, i was alone and the site was 3 mtr stations away. i was tiny bit anxious but i realized worrying wont help in anyway. so armed with my map (taken frm the airport) i went to the site.
on hindsight, being alone helped me , coz no one would listen to my rambling abt how anxious i was or how difficult the exam seemed. after the exam. i took all in & just gave it a BIG SIGH.i left my things at the hotel (empire hotel HKG) then wandered around.
i learned that i passed 3 days after thru quick result.

i stayed there when i took nclex last feb. it's a nice hotel. very near the testing center but very expensive...
Oh wow! We could have crossed each others paths! I was there last March 8-10. I travelled alone so after the exam, I just stayed in my room 'coz I didn't have much energy to go someplace else. The exam really took all my energy!
