NCLEX exam in Hongkong

Hi everyone! I am scheduled for nclex exam dis july 31 in HK.. Can somebody suggest me where to stay when i get there? Tnx! I know it's a lot early.. I'm just a lil excited =)

have you registered to Pearson vue?? or not yet??? manage to get slot for july?

hi lawrence! just want to ask if there is a sort of "off peak" or "peak" season of nclex exam test takers in hk? or is it always full the whole year 'round? im still reviewing for nclex but my original plan is to sit for it by june.

i just checked now, the available slots for june is on the 23rd & 25th

oh my god!!!...HK is full..I'd checked awhile ago but the available sched is a day beyond the expiration of the validity of my ATT...my ATT will expire on june 20 but the available sched is june 21 and 23..help pls?..what will I do?..

If you want my opinion, go for it. Any thing close as possible to your preferred slot will do as more slots on earlier dates will continue to open and close everyday and there is no doubt that you will still be able to get a slot much earlier than is currently available as majority of those who reserved a slot doesn't really intend to go through w/ it and just reserved it for them to have a sure slot. They usually cancel/re-sched 2-5 weeks before their scheduled appointment so you will see slots opening up on that range as long as you are vigilant in checking the calendar/scheduler on you account.

there's no way for me to get that june21 sched coz my ATT will expire by June20...hope that soon they'll change their minds and try to re-sched for much later date to open a slot for us:)...do I have to pay the $150 upon scheduling by net or by fone?..or its gonna be in the testing center in HK?..

If you really want to take it in HK, the earlier you call for scheduling the better to have access in the HK slots. You can take the latest available, then reschedule later if slots will open (but this is very rare, specially now that most of the test takers are going with their families for summer vacation in HK). I dictated my card details when I scheduled by the phone.

If I may suggest, for your convenience and peace of mind while reviewing, if you don't have visa conflicts, have your exam elsewhere.

You have to be vigilant and check the calendar for open slots then w/in the validity of your ATT. It has been done. If, however, you don't have the means or time to check your account every so often then you may choose another testing site but majority that I know just spends the effort in finding a slot in HK rather than pay extra for fare and accommodations in another testing site plus handle the visa requirements or the VEP (for Saipan).

do i need to pay $200 to pearson upon creating an account? is it possible to see the calendar/scheduler before i pay the $200 fee?

unfortunately, $200 is the registration fee so you have to pay pearson upon registration and it will only be completed if the fee was given.

the $150 extra fee for int'l (non-us territory) testing sites such as hk and taiwan are only paid if you will be making the actual appointment, so as long as you do not call them up yet for a confirmation of an appointment they will not seek the $150 and you can just see the scheduler/calendar for available slots and switch testing sites (thru phone also) as long as you can. you can only see one calendar/scheduler per testing site at a time per account.

so when i register to pearson, i need to pay the $200 fee upon creating an account. then be able to view the calendar/scheduler.

but u said i can only view one calendar/scheduler of a testing site per account. does that mean, if choose hk then be able to view their shcedule and if none goes within the validity of my att then i wont be able to check other testing site's available date (ex. saipan)? is that right?

what happen after i register? choose a testing site? then be able to view their calendar? :confused:

pls enlighten me with this. thanks in advance! :)

i came across this idea. (if i am right)

if i choose hk and i did not get a slot for me. then i want to change my testing site, for example, saipan or taiwan, i should call pearson to switch my testing site from hk to saipan or taiwan?? is this the time i can only view the calendar/scheduler of saipan or taiwan??
