Nursing Students NCLEX

anyone who has tried and uses this new program? i need feedback prior to purchasing.. thanks.

Have not heard of this one. If it is inexpensive, why not try it. But if it requires some expenditure, maybe you should stick with the tried and true for your money.

I'm wondering the same thing, the ads for it are all over allnurses.

Hi there. I just ordered the book and hope to have it in the next couple of days. I will post a reply to this thread with my thoughts on it. I have to say, I am intruiged by the "adaptive" test it offers. Here's hoping it is useful and worth the money! Best of luck to us all!

I purchased this the day it came out. It is not a book, nor a CD. It comes as a CD case with a plastic card with a number that you use to register on the thepoint.lww.com website with 12 months unlimited access. I was a bit bummed out that it wasn't an actual CD, but I don't need any more than the 12 months because I will already have my RN license way before that time. I especially like the adaptive testing. You take quizzes of 10 or so questions and depending on how you score, the questions will either continue with the same level or get more difficult. You can choose your content or topic area to be tested on. It gives you a graph, showing how many questions you have answered, your strong areas, your weak areas, and what level of questions you are at. It also compares your scores to the national scores so you can see how you compare. It is really a great program. If you do a google search, there is a coupon code for 25% off with free shipping, that's what used.

@MystyqueOne: THANK YOU so much for the post and the clarification. I thought that it might be online access. I am looking forward to utilizing it before I sit for the NCLEX in the next few weeks. Its going to be nice to know how effective my studying has been. I appreciate it your insight!

Darn they decided to do it online to keep everyone from sharing it I guess. Alot of review cds have been passed around at my school, including NCLEX 4000. I hope my school will buy and install it so I can save some money. I would buy it but the 12 month access really irritates me. Yes I will hopefully graduate in 12 months and have taken the NCLEX but for $70 I should get longer than 12 months.

Do the questions seem to be application/analysis type? I want to get it but still undecided. Thanks for the info!

ideally, students whould be studying for their nclex about 2-3 months prior to taking the exam. then the 12 months is plenty of time to study and if by some odd chance, a retake is necessary, you still have plenty of months available.

you could always share your user log-on and password, but this is an individualized study program. therefore, if someone else uses it also, depending on the way they answer, the questions will be at different levels. the progress graph and your comparison to the national would be inaccurate, therefore not given you realistic results. it is a personalized study program that focuses on your strengths and weaknesses. not everyone's strengths/weaknesses are the same, therefore it would not be beneficial to share this program with others.

i said in my original post to google for the 25% coupon code. i input the code and got 25% off and free next day shipping (they even delivered it on a saturday). if you don't find one, then just try again the next day. coupon codes are always refreshed.

update: the coupon code is wsp3401d with no expiration date. it's 25% discount with free shipping. make sure you select next day shipping to get is faster.

Yes, the questions are of all different topics, areas, and difficulties. They can include multi-system issues, application/analysis, and even the bare basics. I truly think this program is well worth the money. Plus, it's the first program I have heard of that has over 10,000 NCLEX questions of different difficulty levels (8 levels total). I really like that part!

I went to the website and I put that code and the price was the same it did not change, even I put my personal information and they did charge for shipping at the end the total was like $88. Was it that what you paid? if not the coupon is not working.

Thanks!
