hello colleagues,

i came across some things that i need to verify before taking any further steps. this is a copy of a letter that i sent to illinois division of nursing.

dear mr. reid,

thank you for your quick response. i apologize for not fully disclosing my status; i am a nurse from the philippines who graduated from the said country. based from your reply, i understand that i must first accomplish and submit my application for the nclex however, while i was working through the 28-page registered professional nurse packet, i came across some questions and information that i find confusing.

1. i have to submit the accomplished finger print card to an approved live scan vendor in the state of illinois, pay their required processing fee and the results will be electronically mailed to your department or the concerned department? do i have to send the finger print card directly to the live scan vendor or can i send it to my brother in illinois so he can personally hand it to the approved live scan vendor and handle the fees from there?

2. i have to submit the accomplished "certifying statement of fingerprint submission" to your office (or concerned department) along with the following accomplished forms: "application for licensure and/or examination", "certification of education"?

3. the form "verification by licensing agency/board" will be sent to cts directly by the agency who granted me my professional license and thus, will not be returned to me?

4. i am not sure how to answer 'part vii: examination coding information' as i am a graduate of a foreign nursing school.

5. quoting your reply in my earlier inquiry:

and the instruction given in page 2 of the packet:

i shall send the nclex forms (every form in the packet) to continental testing services inc. meanwhile, i will have the concerned agencies address the toefl ibt results as well as the ces report to illinois department of financial and professional regulation.?

i have recently received my local license and have ordered the credentials evaluation services via cgfns. i was advised that it may take long and to save time, i plan on taking the toefl by january 13, 2008 or as soon as possible.

local license as what?

my questions are:

1. can i have cgfns send my credentials to your office without a pending application to take the nclex?

2. is it ok to have ets.org forward my toefl results to your office even if i have not filed my application to take the nclex or any documents to your office?
