I PASSED my nclex-pn!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I'm so excited! I woke up at 4am this morning to check and nothing.. then again at 7am and there it was.. my heart was beating so fast..

Anyway, my computer shut off at 85 questions and I was POSITIVE I failed because I didn't know the answer to what felt like every question. I sat there in disbelief thinking.. ask about lab values or vitals.. or even math calculations! Instead I got a ton of pharmacology, teaching questions, PRIORITY questions and pick all that apply questions- yuck.

My opinion on the test: No book can teach you what the best action is for a given situation because all situations are different based on details you're given. Don't get me wrong, you need to know about conditions and diseases and what to look for or avoid but as everyone has once said- it's not about facts, it's about applying your knowledge or eliminating answers to have a better shot at an educated guess!

I used 5 books to prepare and I'll say the 2 that I think helped the most with refreshing my mind was Kaplan (for the strategies and how to prioritize/ find out what the questions is asking- came in handy for most of the questions I didn't know the answer to) and Saunder's Comprehensive Review (for facts/interventions/considerations you should know).

PLUS there were a few posts on here with shortcuts on how to remember things.. look at them and write them down!

Good luck to everyone! I'm not trying to act like I'm an expert or anything because I passed.. I loved reading reviews on the NCLEX so I could get a better understanding and see what they thought was helpful.
