I was wondering... has anyone used saunder's 3rd edition Q&A review for nclex examination and passed??

Hi, I actually did complete all of the sections in Saunders review 3rd edition, and used the CD rom and passed !

So I think it is very good

Good Luck to you

Yes, i passed the NCLEX-pn 3/27/07 with Saunder 3rd edition Q&A and the Kaplan NCLEX-pn strategies 2006-2007 edition which was very helpful.Good Luck!!!!

You will find people who have passed or failed using EVERY review text on the market today. Those who use a not-well-received review book and pass would have passed regardless of what text they use. And some people require the best-regarded texts or systems to pass.

Personally, I found the Saunders' text questions pretty basic, and much simpler than Kaplan questions. Saunders' questions relied mostly on content knowledge. Kaplan questions went beyond that into applications knowledge (what you need to be solid in to pass NCLEX). I used Saunders for getting my content up to par when I found weaknesses in my Kaplan sample tests. Once I had the Saunders' content down, I'd go back and use Kaplan tests to apply that knowledge. So I utilized both.

I know people who have passed with Saunders alone. And failed with Saunders alone. Same with Kaplan. Look around this site, and you'll see LOTS of ideas about this test! Best of luck to you.

Has anyone used the NCSBN's Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination?

I am doing the three weeks review, but I feel that this review is kind of difficult. Plus I haven' worked as RN. and I am a foreinger nurse, so how long should I study?

I am also planning to do the KAPLAN course thre weeks befor the Big Day, and I also dis all the reading of the SAUDER'S THIRD edition.

But I am still seen my self as a big fail.

Please any suggestions.

Yes, I used Saunders 3rd ed.Q&A and Kaplan 2006-2007 and passed on 4/4/07. Saunders is great!

i used ONLY saunders 3rd edition when i took my 1st nclex-rn exam. unfortunately, i failed. i ran out of time. the actual exam was really hard. the questions in the saunders cd and book are quite easy. you can sometimes easily recognize the right answer. the choices in nclex are too complicated. your brain will really turn up side down. on my 2nd retake, i mixed kaplan test strategy book and online ncsbn. i reread saunders book but didnt practice anymore the cd since i almost memorized the correct answers. right now im still waiting for my result.

Hi!

It is good to hear that somebody has done the NCSBN because I am doing that also online, and I think the practice questions are harder than Sauder's. The reading in the Saunder's book is good for the theory and knowledge portion, but the practice questions are; yes, quite easy.

How long did you do the NCSBN course online?

Thanks.

i enrolled the 3 weeks course.

Use saunders cd 3rd edition, QandA book, and Kaplan practice question trainer, focus on more QandA and rationales, then if you encountered some topic that you are not really familiar and cunfusing try to read sauders comprehensive 3rd edtion. Goodluck

i am using saunders 3rd edition and will be taking the test next week. so we will see what happens next...

The Q and A is not the same as the Comprehensive Review. It does not go into detail about explaining things if you have questions on a certain topic.

If only purchasing one book, make it the Comprehensive Review. It will give you all information that you need to pass the exam.

At least that is my take on it. Best of luck to you.:balloons:
