  1. these were my encouraging words in the past for you and they still are for you "leilah75 we sometimes have to take things as they come. i have been hard times also, and i will be taking the nclex-rn this april 30. i did all reading from saunder's, but unable to get second tip from suzanne4. anyway. i will keep you in my prayers because i know you and i , and whomever take the nclex has the oportunity to pass, but i thing that timming a nd circumstances play a roll in our results on the nclex. please keep your chin up. i am sure eventually god will give you the right circumstances to do your best as nclex taker because so far i do believe god is letting you do your best as a beautiful strong commited woman, mother, wife and i am sure you are succeeding. please expect the best becuase you are the best you are a woman, a nurse. the best so far are the thing where you put your heart. nclex will be always there waiting to be overcome, but family members... we do not know. please leilah75 keep your chin up!! and felt cared" i understand how you feel; at least i try, getting fail is the difference in our life of what to do. i' like to tell you that please do not give up, many nurses from around the world are still trying to get their credentials validated and pass english test, they do not even know when they will get the att. you arlready got it ( att), so that is a huge step. i understand that being a full time mom and wife is very difficult specially when we; wives, are having a very hard time in our marriage due to many factor such as finances, time and priorities. i have seen people going thru very difficult matters , but they never give up. one of my friends is a single parent and for her getting nursing school done was a dream and a way to provide, so it took her 7 years, english, pre-req and then nursing , plus nclex , she relied on friends and relatives and her first pay check went to pay part of her debt. in my case, the process of getting credentials validated was a very long process that took about three years plus english and six week of study for nclex, two times a root canal done with infection, two weeks of a bad stomach infection and the painful 6 weeks of reading saunders because, in all topics i saw every member of my family, diabetes mellitus, schezofrenia, prostate cancer, renal failure, obesity, anorexia, etc. it was painful for me to recall signs and symptoms.......plus three big fights with hubby because home was a mess and no clean clothes. i; with all due respect, recomend you to take not one week but two weeks off, then start over, if you are going to read saunders again, read it from back to front. i went to the library two hours mostly every day and i tried to stay focus on the reading of each chapter. library makes you feel the process of learning, so maybe you will find this helpful. allow your self time to retake, please do not rush your self or you will become anxious, i am sure your time will come, yes, that time to become rn sure will come. please think about; or make , a list about things you did wrong in the past and learn from them. maybe the fact that you worry too much is preventing you fromm letting your nursing brain think as it, so do not put so much pressure on your shoulders. your hubby is already providing , so you won't become the super hero after passing nclex. you will keep being the perfect helper we; women, were originaly made to be. please do not give up, keep your chin up, sooner or later you will succeed. praying for you yalpog
  2. I am almost sure that KAPLAN does not base its information from the NCSBN. What I do believe is that most of the materials to get prepared for the NCLEX is based on the scope of practice that the NCSBN says is safe for practicing nursing, so here is where all those year spent at NS help you in your answering NCLEX actual questions. I; sure, go with the Saunders, Springhouse, Delmar etc because these books have been written and edited by nursing scholars and not only by a company like Kaplan whereI have found difficult to get the references from nursing books.
  3. Thanks, yes I had a small sundae, went to the gym and worked out for 1 hr.
  4. Yes, it is THANKS:balloons:
  5. Hello I just found that I passed. Thanks you girls for all the prayers and good whishes; it was very important to me the support that you showed. For all of you still waiting for results or waiting to take it whichever time, please do not give up. You have done all nursing courses, so you are well prepared for NCLEX. Thanks to ALLNURSES for this forum, and thanks SUZANNE4.
  6. [color=olive] 1. how many questions did you take on nclex? i took 220 or so, i did not expect the computer to stop [color=olive] 2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course? [color=olive]i did all the raeding of the saunder's third edition comprehensive review, kaplan q-trainer, ncsbn on-line course. [color=olive] 3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)? it does not ( foreigner trained) [color=olive]4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?[color=olive]i am still waiting i took it yesterday april 30. may 2, 2007 i passed [color=olive]5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? [color=olive] after i finished the test i went outside the center with a feeling of having taken the next step in my career, but then i started feeling not confident and as the houres pass i am certain i failed. it is funny because when i was doing the test i felt challenged by every question, so i read and read; and even had a conversation with the question[color=olive], . i tried to picture every question as an alive scenario in my mind, but the question was quite complex ( some long ;some short) this is as if the fisrt sentence of the question were not related to the last four words of the question and all four answers would be the right to pick. [color=olive]6. was this your first attempt at nclex? [color=olive]yes, it is my first attempt. i hope i pass. ( i will keep you posted). may 2, 2007 i passed
  7. Dear dollface99 I hope you are getting ready for the test. You are in my prayers. Psalm 31 :24 God bless you.
  8. Update I have been doing well in my last week of studying. the glucose in my body is stable, but the wheather here is very unstable, some days are Sunny shinny and others are gray and windy?. What a wheather we have. Any way..........did you sometimes during your last week of studing feel you were ready to take the test ande then next hour you went " I do not nothing". I hope these days go soon.
  9. I am praying for strenght and rest to you tonight since tomorrow is your test day. Psalm 25 : 4-5. Be courageous and do your best!! God bless you.
  10. This morning I went to the testing center, and I felt a little anxious, but it helped me because I got familiar with the setting at least the exterior of the building. Please, as test day gets closer try to relax and thing in the good times during your nursing education. I just realized that by setting my life after NCLEX i become so anxious for a goal that I thing I have 50/50 to achieve, so do not set your life after NCLEX , set your life before and during NCLEX it is easy to see this picture and Remember. All things that happend to us are for our good. Praying for you
  11. Well, as soon as I get this test done I will be going to the gym every single day to trim all these bad pounds I have gained since I started studying. I will indulge my self for the eveneing but next day. Gym, sauna , and swimming pool.
  12. Ok, I did my trip to the testing center, and what I found was construction work in the route on "mapquest", so I drove 45 minutes instead of 30, then at the testing center parking spot was easy to find. I went back to the Library, did the questions form drexel and I had a " prediction" of passing. My breakfast was. Skim milk, 2 Sunny side up eggs, 2 pieces of wheat bread and 2 glasses of water, at 7 am. Then at 11 am I had half of a orange and some salted nuts and a glass of water. That's it for today. I fell good and my glucose is in normal range. Please keep sharing the braekfast menu on NCLEX day. Thanks.
  13. Thanks!! Yes, protein is a good idea. I will try the salty snack tomorrow, and I will see. Thanks.
